I don't even use my designer bags anymore. This world has become so dangerous that I feel like I have a "rob me" sign on my back when I wear them. The exception was my LV duffel which I took to Spain with me last month. But for every day wear I just don't risk it.
  • @hellomeloO
Even though I personally love fashion, I know material things are not really associated with happiness. When I think about my past, I remember the experiences, people, or conversations... never what I wore that day.
  • I’ve never really wanted material luxury, like purses and shoes… but I can’t lie the houses travel and leisure are definitely something I find myself envious of.
  • @LoveAtHome
I've never dreamt of flexing like an influencer but I do find it enjoyable to watch all these luxury eye candies. It's more of a quick escape from reality.
  • You made some valid points. Luxury can be addictive if we don't have self control. This is why I don't compete w/ the Joneses, social media & influencer. I only buy what I can afford.
  • @monimarz
Will there be a time when those influencers who have made their theme 'luxury', find themselves without content? I have been curious whether there is a ceiling to this all. How many Hermes bags or Chanel bags can a person have before the content becomes boring? I think many influencers are forced to become entrepreneurs out of financial survival.
  • @ChandniVlogs
One main point is that this is a TAX write off for influencers!!! They would rather buy designer stuff than pay that money in tax.
  • @shellbell8062
Im all for high quality goods, but I think that Chanel bags and many similar bags are ridiculous. I often imagine the marketing team sitting in their offices saying: "Let's see if those idiots will pay $12 000 for the classic flap this year" as they raise the prices, and the quality goes down. Besides LV and CC are so overdone and boring. I would honestly rather own pieces from Arket. There are much cooler brands like Loewe and Toteme whose designs are taking the world by storm and have left those old heritage brands in the dust. We are living in a world now where we don't go out as much and those kinds of items are completely redundant. Just invest in some lovely cashmere from COS or Arket - the quality is beautiful and you won't feel like a mug.
  • @psyche8187
These people are definitely fake. I was at a restaurant when one of the influencers listed at the beginning arrived. She was with a man who was filming her fake arrival. It was a very small restaurant, so it was SO awkward. It was clear they thought they were more important than the rest of us. But when they were done filming and sat to eat, they were obviously not enjoying themselves…or each other. Then they made the waiter photograph them and retake the photo 5 times. It made me so grateful I was there to enjoy a special time with the man I love. I’m truly lucky for the happiness I have, not for the luxury.
  • @ducksamok1716
Good video. We have to remind ourselves that yes, most of these influencers are gifted these luxury items. Not all but most are gifted. Also, some of these influencers comes from a well to do background.
  • @wge621
Save you 12 minutes: because they get sponsored items and trips. Also they have problems too. People like luxury videos because items are associated with success Truly groundbreaking.
  • @linhdieuha
People have treated me like crap in the past cuz they thought I was a rich person but I’m just really good at finding clothing at thrift stores that fit my style and they are never luxury brands 😅 🙄 people should just stop idolizing money and people with money. If you have enough to live happily that’s all that matters
  • @natalya5525
Rather invest in healthy eating, skin care, gym than in luxury brands. But if you can afford it all go for it)
  • @silkyslim2111
In my city, celebrities' (like Mariah C.) homes were getting their homes robbed based on social media. I stopped showing anything. If your life is an advertisement fine but actual lives must be protected.
  • @Natashea
I definitely got into luxury bags because of watching YouTube but now 5yrs later I’m a lot more thoughtful about my purchases. I love a Birkin but until I can afford to fly private regularly I’ll admire from afar and I’m okay with that. I’m way more into quality & uniqueness now than I was when I started collecting. It’s annoying to have so many expensive bags I don’t currently use.
  • @liyahA11
I always liked luxury but in a classic way, however I think you can look luxurious without brand name pieces. I'm in my early 20s and I love coach because it has such a ladylike look and great quality. Brand names is such a trend that it became toxic nowadays.
  • @catperson776
I think people want designer is not because of the quality but because it’s a status symbol. And honestly I also love luxury brands like Chanel and LV but I cannot afford it but I can dream lol 😂
  • @CC-kr3mr
I can’t imagine the level of anxiety of “keeping up” as an influencer. Not for me. Good on them I suppose if they are monetizing a lifestyle but I often wonder how this can actually make you happy constantly chasing the next content and likes. I don’t say this from a cynical standpoint. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world, Vancouver, British Columbia own my home, own my own established business and have a beautiful rewarding life. I have a small luxury handbag collection, to die for wardrobe, etc. but I do lead a very private and low-key lifestyle. True wealth is quiet. No one in my social circle would post from social media from an airport or a plane. It seems tacky. I would feel embarrassed to do so honestly, but that’s just me. To each is their own, but I honestly would not be able to live in this hyper focused, micro trend online social media world.
  • I always go the preloved route and I buy mostly vintage styles. Great analysis ☺️
