Anyone else think that McDonald's should do throwbacks of their older food items on their anniversary?
-
The nostalgia of this actually brought a tear to my eye lol, not for the hamburger, but for the time period.
-
McDLT the best burger they ever made,,,BRING IT BACK.
-
I used to freaking LOVE this burger!! I wish they could bring it back. The closest thing now is the quarter pounder deluxe.
-
This was my favorite burger of all time. Bring it back 🥺.
-
I sooo miss the McDLT. Was the go to every time I ordered. Bring it back!
-
YES! I remember this commercial. And $1.49?!?! Damn, I wish burgers that size still cost that much!

Actually, the styrofoam container was a clever concept. As the ad explains, it kept the cool toppings separated from the hot burger. Plus, for whatever reason, those burgers tasted a hundred times better in the styrofoam than any of McDonald's boxed burgers. The McD.L.T. was delicious!

They need to bring the McD.L.T. back!
-
This was my favorite burger during my childhood!
-
THESE WERE THE BEST. AWESOME COMBO....HOT AND COLD JUST LIKE IT SHOULD BE. I MISS THESE BURGERS.
-
Oh how I miss this burger
-
the original Styrofoam containers had a peel off sticker on them.. we used to put them on our lockers at work!
-
I worked at McDonald's in late 1987. We were still making these. We did cut the tomatoes, but the lettuce and onions came in plastic bags. We'd make these delicious burgers, separated as you see in the commercial, and then toss the styrofoam carton in the heated bin. Made lots of sense.

Best tasting burger McD's ever had. Its all I got every trip. Something about it just tasted different than their standard fare.

To this day the DLT was the best burgers McDonald's ever put out

$1.49 for a burger in 1985. Good lord that sounds like a miracle.

The McDLT was a FANTASTIC IDEA and sandwich! The biggest drawback for a lot of "ozone" people was that big Styrofoam container...(which could have easily been traded out with pulp "drink carrier" material) The size of the container was also clumsy....But I think it still was the best burger McD's ever made.

They need to bring this back.
