Luke- “You told me Vader murdered my father” Ben- “It’s literally what he said”

Darth Vader is the epitome of “I made a mistake but I’m too far gone to turn around”…such a tragic character

No matter how much time passes or what writing they’re given, good or bad, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will always have that special kind of chemistry that makes me emotional when they come together.

Walking away saying, "Goodbye, Darth." Beautiful! Nice way to connect how he addressed him in A New Hope.

Kenobi took off part of the helmet from the left side, while Ahsoka took it from the right. And at the end, Luke took off the whole mask.

Vader saying "I am not your failure" always tears me up. He's basically saying: "Don't blame yourself, Obi-wan." He tries to release Obi-wan from the guilt. Because Vader exactly knows he can blame noone but himself for all this. And he hates himself for the rest of his life. When Luke tries to turn him back, Vader truly wanted go back the light, but he felt he didn't deserve redemption.

His face poking through the broken part of his mask, the tear, the scream in the end…all metaphors for the conflict within him. And to finally hear the apology that he needed after so long…it’s heart wrenching

When he says "I am not your failure Obi wan" the light on his face his blue. It's like Anakin is accepting Obi Wan's apology and telling him that it's not his fault. And then it becomes red again when Vader returns. Brilliant creative choice there.
  • I love how once Vader's suit is broken he almost immediately goes from a cold intimidating villain to a sympathetic broken man who's barely alive. Hit's harder knowing he's only in his early 30s at this point.

I appreciate the way Anakin consoled his friend in the conclusion, reassuring Obi-Wan that the situation was not his fault.

"I'm not your failiure Obi Wan" always gets me..this is trully Anakin get back and tells his formar friend "it's not your fault"
  • To hear James Earl Jones' voice and Hayden Christiansen's voice merge together was so awesome.

"You didn't kill Anakin, i did" "Darth Vader killed your father..."

It takes the star wars veteran to truly appreciate how insane this lightsaber duel is
  • @zennyspent
"Then my friend is truly dead." "Then my father is truly dead." Nice touch

Massive props to Ewan and Hayden for doing this scene. They really put their hearts into these performances.

The part of Anakin still alive saying "I am not your failure, Obi-Wan.", then Darth Vader coming in with the "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker, I did." just hits so hard. He really just saw his best friend completely die

The way they “mixed” anakins voice with the module….is absolute perfection….literal BEST scene in ANY of the movies, hands down💯💯
