THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO APPRECIATE THE ABOVE CONCERT: I have to comment on the statement that this concert had little to do with George Duke by @ Laszlo Kamaker and the other comment by @ jat4xx regarding my singing. Number one, myself and Drummer Gorden Campbell were called to do this tribute concert for George by his manager about a week before we flew to Indonesia to do it. Number two, we had all of two days to rehearse with everyone else on stage that (donated) their time and talents to the effort... They didn't get paid to do it!!! George was a dear friend and I had the pleasure of playing on seven or eight of his CD's. This was the first time that I stood on a stage and played George Duke's Music without him standing there smiling back at me, so it was extremely emotional for me and for Gorden, but we did our very best to pull it off. The concert had everything to do with George Duke!!! We had no time, no budget and no singers that knew the music except myself. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at least use your opinions in an intelligent and informed way. If you don't what went into a thing to make it happen, don't sit at home in front of your computer typing negative comments that mean nothing and make you seem very small. If you don't have good and positive things to say about others... don't speak. Life Lesson Number One. Peace, LK

One thing is for sure, George Duke will never ever be forgotten with passionate and loving fans of his music/legacy like of all of you who truly understand who George is... For those who don't know G as well as you might think you do, George's live concerts were never "perfect" because he HATED to rehearse. This is because of the years he spent with Frank Zappa rehearsing many hours a day. It burned him out. So, he relied on musicians that knew his music best to pull the tunes off in a way that was musical and fun for him. You see, G didn't take himself quite as seriously as some of you might think. He was a fun loving teddy bear of a man who loved to play and have one of a kind moments happen... period. Those type pf moments cannot happen when everything is "perfect". "Perfect" is mechanical and there was nothing mechanical about George Duke. So you see, in many ways, this concert was just what the doctor ordered for George's Tribute. Even George's Memorial service included lots of unrehearsed, spontaneous music. I think, no, I know that he loved it all... mistakes included! Now you know... Peace, LK

I just cannot believe that the legendary Larry Kimpel is actually commenting in here. Just extraordinary..Folks, if you don't know the breadth of Maestro Kimpel's career, just look it up...He is an A rated Bass player.. Thank you Larry for your incredible contribution to the world of Jazz for the last 30 years. Larry Kimpel

Thank you Larry Kimpel for the Tribute! George childhood friend took me to George's house in 1992 while I was on active duty in the U.S. Navy. I had the opportunity to play for George. Although I was a little nervous, he made me feel comfortable and complimented my creativeness and improvisational skills. Like many of his friends and fans, I miss him and will soon honor him by performing an arrangement of his "Muir Woods Suite." Much Mahalo!

What a Marvelous Tribute to a Amazing "The Master Pianist of FUNK, R&B, AFRO Cuban , BRAZILLIAN Music!" It's not a day that I think about George Duke's musical treasures that he left behind on the earth. REST IN ETERNAL PEACE!

Thank you to each and every person who has taken the time out of their busy days to comment on this video! I appreciate the good and the not so good comments because you'll NEVER be able to please everyone in this world! This was simply an impromptu Jam Session... The kind of thing that my friend and mentor, George Duke LOVED!!! He was all about spontaneity in the music (mistakes and all) and I know that he was in the room that night on stage with us laughing and smiling just as he always did! Thanks again everyone and Happy Holidays! Blessings, LK

These guys did such an incredible job with the time given (and a less than lively audience). Real musicians doing their thing. George would be proud.
