"Why are you crying watching a short film on YouTube?" Me: I just watched episode 5 of X-Men '97 and was thinking back to better times. 🥺
  • As a huge Gambit and Rogue fan. I’ve waited a long time for someone to pay them the proper tribute. This was it.

I love this. Not only does this showcase my favorite fictional character, it also shows just how versatile Gambit's mutant abilities are. He's not just about throwing cards. The guy is saturated with kinetic energy, so he constantly has the inherent inertia to perform moves that an Olympic gymnast would need a good running start to pull off. His ability to convert potential energy into unstable kinetic energy means that he can turn anything he touches into a concussion grenade with a short fuse. I love the scene where he sends kinetic energy into his car's brake mechanism to effect a sudden stop. What I DON'T love is Magik as the bad guy. They should have used Spiral or some other morally dubious teleporter (although Remy throwing his cards through her portal was incredibly innovative).

Finally get to see Gambit and Rogue using their powers the right way and talking the way I remember from the cartoon from years back. This is how Anna should have been talking.
  • @magic11387
They did Gambit & Rogue justice in 20 minutes than the whole X-Men movies.
  • @Rubrick23.
The deck of cards flying loose when Rogue showed up to the portals was classic.

I don't need a movie portrayal of Gambit anymore after watching this. This was SO GOOD omg. Wasn't expecting at all. Congrats everyone who made this, so well made.

I think the 90’s x-men cartoon was my real introduction to the superhero genre, and Gambit, Rogue and their relationship was one of the most memorable aspects. It could easily be a trilogy. Some story that has them unite, get separated, then reunite. As long as it stays true to the characters, like this short does, it’d be very profitable.
  • This was done incredibly well , no one ever gives Gambit enough credit it's always wolverine , Deadpool etc he has always been one of my favorite X-Men . Hollywood needs to take notes .
  • Absolutely perfect actors to play Rogue and Gambit. I like it!!! Can't wait to see more episodes. With Noen directing it, it's a winner!😊
  • @Jake-yz3qv
This was actually so much fun. And props to the girl playing Magik for all those sit ups she must have done
  • @jamescorry8556
Gambit has to be one of the most badass characters in all of marvel.
  • @jfeliciano2687
The movie X Men spin-off that we deserve but they won't give us.
  • @danelamoreaux4166
Gambit is so underrated. Thanks for showing him some love. Awesome movie to you and your team.
  • @ronaldandlinda
I really wish they would make a full feature film in Gambit. Other than Wolverine, Gambit is the coolest X-Men character.
  • @blackmagic201
It's sad how fan films like this can routinely blow big budget Hollywood productions out of the water on a shoe string budget. Congratulations to all involved! You produced a work of art that pays tribute to the characters and is compelling to watch. Now excuse me, I have to go re-watch this
  • @maedaii
This movie was done so well. Finally a Rogue and Gambit worth watching
  • @Broken9Arrow
Years later... Still a Masterclass on how to take a few beloved characters and shape an engaging world in such a short time frame. Take notice Marvel- this is the kind of content comic book "nerds" need. Fund these guys and gals. Great job!
  • @rashendon2426
Gambit should have had his own movie a long time ago. He was one of my favorite mutants.
