April 2023 General Conference Highlights

Published 2023-04-24
Welcome back to Holiness to the Lord, a podcast type channel where I will discuss my thoughts as I study scriptures looking for Temple themes. General Conference is considered part of cannon/scripture, so here I take the 9 hours of talks and break it down into the ones that impacted me the most!

I cried when unexpectedly meeting one of the 12 Apostles.
  • Oh boy this indeed, treasure. Well worth returning, so much gold...l am only half way through, hope to continue...🇬🇧
  • I can relate. Growing up in the '70s, Saturday cartoons were the highlight of my week. After watching cartoons for 4 hours, I was a bit miffed about my Dad changing the channel to General Conference at 10:00 am, but I knew it was important to watch. I loved hearing President Kimball.
  • The First Presidency and the Quorum of the 12 are like guideposts or beacons showing us the way home.

It's important to remember that although we have been blessed with a living Prophet whose personal character is beyond human measure...
we should not tare down the reputation of the past Prophets. Although many had reputations that are less than becoming from the perspective of the members of the church. Its important to remember not to judge. Many things are hidden. Only God knows the truth of all things.
These are meant to be lessons for the generations. And make no mistake, hard times are coming. The Church may 'steady the ark', but the storms are coming. I look forward to hearing this next general conference. It's absolutely my favorite time of the year. Each talk is spot on, and is 100% inspired by the Holy Spirit of God.

I miss the Tabernacle. I understand the size just isn’t enough. To me, it holds the blood, sweat, tears and sacrifice of so many. This is a beautiful structure and dedicated to God, but at its essence it was just built by well equipped, paid contractors

Can someone please list the specific prophesies and their specific fulfillment made by LDS Apostles/ prophets in, let's say the last 20 years .
This is of course the seal of God on his prophets, prophesies, that are 100% accurate because God speaks to them and through them.
    Thank you.

Why is priesthood necessary to make a promise with God?

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in MATTHEW 24:23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..."
Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in?
    A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan.
    OR
    B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
