PS1 Dual Analog Controller Repair and Restore

Publicado 2020-08-12
In this video I'm going to restore a PlayStation Dual Analog controller. This was the second controller to come out for the original PlayStation. If you want to see how to take one apart and put one back together...this video is for you!

This isn't Dual Analog (SCPH-1180), but common DualShock controller.
  • The OEM PS1 dual shock controllers were really well made compared to the equivalent controllers for the PS2 and PS3

The title of this vid is a misnomer, this is actually a normal DualShock controller, not the earlier and rare Dual Analog controller.

I got myself an original Dual Shock controller for PS1 a couple of days ago in mint condition! The controller looks and feels absolutely brand new. I got it for 20 bucks with shipping. But of course: the left stick somehow is a little bit loose and travels a little bit downwards. :/ Don't know how that is possible, since this thing was never used.

Tried to reshell a dual shock 2 before.. it was a mess, I smashed the new shell in my hands out of pure anger

I have two SCPH-1200 ps1 controllers. When plugged into PS1, the red light won’t come on and the controllers just won’t work. However, if I plug those controllers into my PS2 console, they work and the red light comes on… The little ps1 controllers that don’t have analog sticks work just fine on my PS1, but my PS1 just won’t allow for analog/dual shock (stick) controllers. Any tips or advice to fix this is appreciated.

That's not a dual analogue controller, it's a dual shock.

I could say someone got mad at mk4 but idk if that offered analog compatibility
