After this video was over, I found many examples of .10 written on the back in light pencil!!!

Wow, nice #27 ! A dealer I sometimes bought books from at shows about 15 years ago gave me some attitude because I mentioned that I didn't like books with prices written on the back cover. He said something like "Well that's petty" to which I said "that's because YOU'RE the one who wrote on the back of the book" Never bought another book from him. Don't piss off the Cougar! Got my bike stolen in college :(

It's great to be able to see all these - I knew about them from various reprints, but always wondered about them.
  • Enjoyed your stories and memories as much as your comics. I, too, rode my Stingray everywhere, but not to the drugstore to buy comics. For that, I would walk the 2 miles to the shopping plaza with my fellow neighborhood chums. When not riding, we walked everywhere. We never bummed rides or sat around lazy. Hey, we loved putting football cards in the spokes to make our bikes sound like it was motorized.
  • Beautiful collection. I always love seeing the full runs. And you never disappoint. I have a few of these in my sights. Thanks for the motivation.

This is awesome thanks for sharing your collection
  • Always a pleasure seeing your great collection and hearing your stories🔥 I had my bike stolen as a kid, almost a right of passage where I grew up lol
  • Just found your channel. Love seeing these books. Learned some cool things too. I grew up in NJ and miss having flea markets around. My first local comic “shop” as a kid was at an inside flea market down in the Toms River area. Thanks for sharing!
  • Good to see the original Tales of Astonish comics ‘out of the bags’.... I remember the reprints in the English ‘Terrific’ comic..in the early seventies...thanks for sharing your collection and memories Allen!
  • Impressive Tales to Astonish run, this set would be extremely difficult to put together today in any condition. Great video and story, keep them coming.

Great to hear from you again, Allen. Looking at the books and listening to your stories always serves as a great touchstone to my personal experiences growing up.

Always a pleasure Allen! Great Tales told and Tales to Astonish Combo! Funny thing...my Wife (of 34 yrs on the 5th) was born in Dover. I also have a gut-punch "tale" of TTA 77 to tell someday. Thanks!

Great to see this series continue Allen. I had that first Gorgilla for many years as I too found it at a yard sale. I hope all is well buddy. As usual you make us all drool.😁
  • Such a great run of books. I enjoyed seeing your collection and the story behind them.

Love the age and wear and tear on those books. Nice pull! Still working on complete some of my runs. Low grade books are just fine with me. Thanks for sharing.

I love “out of the bags”, the covers are great and so are the stories. #52 is the only one in my PC (so far)
