I was the first kid in my high school to get the first Iron Maiden album(I still have it). So it kinda means a lot to me. All my friends who played guitar didn't like it at 1st because they said it was too complicated. Man, things sure changed after that, and very quickly.

I love the x factor cover, I've got huge nostalgia for cover art and anything like that. It's like a weird clamation thing. It looks great but I see why people don't like it

My top 3 which I feel very firmly about: 1) Powerslave 2) Seventh Son 3) Caught Somewhere in Time Also - I hope to see Iron Maiden in concert for the first time ever later this year!
  • I’m pretty sure we all knew what was coming last… But the Blaze Bailey albums have some sick covers.

Thank you for giving the artist credits! Killers is my fav. album and cover. Love the horror of it. The grasping hands on Eddie's shirt are so powerful. The fact that Eddie's looking at the camera as to say "you're next", is so great! I actually like the Book of Souls cover. It's really striking. Sometimes less is more. Same with the debut. Love the layout of Eddie font n' center, large and in charge.

Been on an Iron Maiden binge lately so the timing of this video is perfection. Also whether people are willing to admit it or not, album artwork matters immensely. Edit: In the SSOASS album art Eddie is not holding just an organ, he's holding a womb with an unborn child inside and somewhere in time has like 39 hidden easter eggs which is cool af

I’ve bought many albums purely based on the cover art. It’s a fun way to discover new bands. Although sometimes this can go terribly wrong lol

I always thought the No Prayer for the Dying cover was Eddie breaking out of a grave and grabbing a grounds keeper! Glad to see you back putting up videos!
  • Somewhere in Time is my favorite album cover and I’m with you it’s also my favorite Iron Maiden album . Stranger in a Strange Land is an epic song with a smooth Adrian Smith solo it kicks ass 😁

The album covers for both The Book of Souls and Senjutsu were done by Mark Wilkinson, who is perhaps best known for having provided the cover art for all of the Fish-era Marillion albums (as well as most of Fish's subsequent solo albums). He also did several Judas Priest album covers, in addition to Maiden's Best of the 'B' Sides compilation and the 1998 remastered reissue of Live at Donington. Also, I'm fairly sure the No Prayer for the Dying cover art isn't meant to depict 'Eddie holding a guy over a ledge about to drop him', as such, but rather Eddie bursting from the grave and grabbing a hapless cemetery caretaker and/or night-watchman by the throat (hence the lantern in the man's hand). Maiden's manager, Rod Smallwood, was reportedly displeased with the uncanny resemblance of Eddie's 'victim' to himself, and requested that the figure be erased from future editions; hence the removal of said 'victim' from the cover art of the 1998 remastered edition of the album (although some subsequent editions have since reverted to the original artwork).

I’m 44 years old and I’m the only one in my friends group that actually likes there music . I actually liked the final frontier more then there so there then latest album. The final frontier had some of the best song writing in awhile . The trooper is a good choice for your favorite maiden song . I’m a 2 minutes to midnight guy myself . Somewhere in time is an iconic album for me as well.
