Update 7th April : Happy to report Chris has already re-packed 4 bearings out of 6 with grease - thanks a lot for the advice!
  • @cjskeptic8931
Do the Ocean swim dude... bring out the budgie smugglers..😅😅😅😅
  • @zoninable
One money saving tip would be to buy a grease gun and big 400g grease tubes, instead of those small tubes. Plus you are going to need it anyway to grease the vehicle in future.
  • @check3865
Need to pack those bearings lad no where near enough
  • @emild3755
A lot of people have already mentioned but those bearing were not greased properly and will end up failing soon and destroy your stub axle as well. Packing the bearing by hand takes about 10min per bearing to work the grease all through the rollers. It’s less about the amount of grease but making sure you’ve worked it into the right spots.
  • @jettfancy
Great that you mix in your "Sweden experience" with all the car stuff. As a Swede its interesting to take part of your view of the country, and I hope you dont find it too difficult being here. Anyhow, youre very welcome.
  • @defenda2477
Hey mate probably need to pack those bearings a bit better on the stub axle, smearing grease around the outside isn’t the way to do it as the grease won’t be on the inside of the bearing. Get a needle end for a grease gun and inject it in if you cannot pack by hand. What grease you put into the bearings is pretty well all it’s going to get as the grease inside the hub will not really be doing much for the bearings in terms of lubricating the bearings

Learn by doing. It’s the only way to build confidence in the vehicle and develop your own skills. Biltema sell a cheap parts washer. You can also get a compact sand blasting ‘cabin’ from HBM Machines. Both will come in handy for the rebuild 👍

Do the swim mate 😉 You’re both doing an incredible job, heaps ballsy to take this on but you’re killing it and are inspiring. Thanks for the content!
  • You need to do the swim. You know you want to. Really enjoying this series so far and looking forward to these videos.
  • Did you completely fill the roler berrings up with bearing grease by working the grease into the bearing using the palm of your hand.
  • @oldmanbeardy
I only watched a couple of your vids from Australia but I am hooked on this build. Really interested in seeing how it all goes. Also I think you should take the plunge in the ocean pool.
  • @larrymoore4223
Chris, I’m not mechanically inclined at all so I don’t typically watch a build out video and definitely not a long one much less a series. But you have done such a great job of explaining and describing what you’re doing every step of the way and have made these videos so fun to watch I don’t want to miss any. Love the way you and Ange have made the situation work for you to all be there every step of the way. And Oakley is such a cute little stud! Great job with this series. Can’t wait to see the vehicle when you’re done!
  • @gabrielw7929
Scheel Mann seats, ooh, la, la…. you definitely have to swim in the ocean pool. Really enjoying this new build series. 🤙

Go take a swim as we real vikings do !! greetings from the danisch site !

Get in the water Chris! :D Regarding sightseeing i have these tips for you, all in Skåne: Glimmingehus - Built in 1499 as a residence for a Danish knight and his family, Glimmingehus is Sweden’s best-preserved medieval chateau. They run a tour every weekday at 14.00, (12 and 14 during weekends). Open 11-16 daily. Trelleborgen - A reconstruction of the former Viking castle that King Harald Blåtand erected in the 9th century and which gives the town its name, based on archeological findings at the site in 1988. A popular Viking market is held here every July, staging the dramatic Battle of Trelleborg. Foteviken - a fully reconstructed viking village in Höllviken, they host a market June 27th-30th this year. Lund cathedral - Built sometime during the 12th century In Malmö you should check out the "Disgusting food museum" and challenge your tastebuds. :D

Sweating like a gypsy with a mortgage in Sweden. Keep up the hard work and content!

Don’t forget to look after each other as much as possible old mates. Don’t over focus on your tasks and not make time for fun. Xx

Well it looks like i'm going for a very cold swim then! What was I thinking 😂 In regards to the wheel bearings = The bearing housing (hub) itself has approx. 400 grams of grease packed into it to lubricate that bearing according to the service manual. Would that not be enough for that roller bearing? As the hub rotates wouldn't that grease lubricate those rollers? It's not too late for me to do the entire process again for the third time each but it would be great to here from someone who knows these tgb axles. Cheers for all the comments (not the swim ones) and see you for next week's video 🤝
