Don't Torture a Duckling - Nails in the Coffin

Published 2024-02-16
- I evaluate a victim’s response to a life-threatening situation based on a rating system I've coined as "Nails in the Coffin." When someone is killed on-screen, their actions and decisions determine the number of "Nails" they receive. If they exhibit tremendous resilience and make judicious choices, they can earn a commendable Four Nails in the Coffin. However, if they make inexplicable blunders or engage in imprudent actions, such as freezing in place or opting to run upstairs instead of seeking safety outside, I find it appropriate to assign just One Nail in the Coffin.
If the victim stood no chance of survival no matter what they could have done, I could give them 2 Nails in the Coffin.

With Great Kills, There Must Also Come...Great Nails!

Always ✌️ love you're channel Uncle Pete , thank you for the contents 🤟❣️
  • Fantastic breakdown of the kills in this Fulci classic! It's impressive how these films didn't need huge body counts to be effective. The setting, the overarching feelings of unease, the music, the imagery, it all combines into something often lacking in films that fall over themselves to get a high kill count. I haven't watched this one in ages. I look forward to revisiting a bunch of Fulci for the dead last. Best of luck with your interview, that's so awesome!
