Final Exam - Nails in the Coffin

Published 2024-05-03
- I evaluate a victim’s response to a life-threatening situation based on a rating system I've coined as "Nails in the Coffin." When someone is killed on-screen, their actions and decisions determine the number of "Nails" they receive. If they exhibit tremendous resilience and make judicious choices, they can earn a commendable Four Nails in the Coffin. However, if they make inexplicable blunders or engage in imprudent actions, such as freezing in place or opting to run upstairs instead of seeking safety outside, I find it appropriate to assign just One Nail in the Coffin.
If the victim stood no chance of survival no matter what they could have done, I could give them 2 Nails in the Coffin.

With Great Kills, There Must Also Come...Great Nails!

  • Thanks for including me! The video turned out excellent! Fair assessments! Not a terrible average considering it's a college slasher flick. I feel for Radish because he was the paranoid one punished for having a healthy fear of the scary possibilities the world presents. I mean, statistically speaking, for many, odds are super low of encountering violent crime...but in a world like this, it could happen to anyone. I definitely think the killer was worthy of rating. I don't know for a fact he's a damaged man, but I have my suspicions. I kind of love that Wildman had obviously been such a successful bully it didn't dawn on him until way too late that someone might have his number. Reminds me of a school "badass" back in the day. He would shit-talk everyone. In junior high he was a grade ahead and one time to bully me, he took my bag and ran. I won his respect by circling the entire school to keep up with him even though I was hefty and asthmatic. I just didn't want to get the wrath of my stepdad for losing my bag. But I digress, one time he was walking in a residential neighborhood with a friend of mine and insulted a guy coming their direction on the other side of the street. My friend said the guy made a beeline straight across the street and proceeded to ferociously beat the "badass," like a one-sided mauling. Turned out this dude was a kickboxer with a short fuse and a police record. When it was over, the "badass" asked my friend why he didn't help him and my friend said, "Why? So, we both got our asses beat?" Just hearing about that was enough for me to learn a lesson. Well, and seeing the results. He looked bad for quite a while, some teeth were knocked out and everything. Many of the bullied felt vindicated and he stopped being such an ass, so I guess something good came out of it.🤣

I have this movie in my Liked section on YouTube. I am surprised the killer got the most nails. 😮 Also, I have to disagree with you on Wildman. Why would you run up to a big tall stranger who could possibly be the killer?! That was dumb! One nail for me. Pure dumb testosterone macho move. Sorry, my opinion.
