Good video. One bait you left out that I see a lot of PROs tie on is thw Zoom 7 inch June Bug. It is in my tackle and brings in a lot of bass. I fish it Texas style. 11 and half pounder.

Grest video and I will have to go shopping and get some of these. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Good stuff Tyler, thanks for the content and insights.

You are right about color not being that bigof a deal. CONTRAST is more important. Some fish like Walleye, Bass and pike do not see all the colors like we do. And red disappears deeper than about 30 feet. It just looks grey deeper than that. There is a lot to it and far too much to put here.
  • Black finesse worm with chartreuse tip. Clear/smoke silver fleck craw texas rig.....know a bunch of guys that compete and these are tough day secret lures......and tubes....

Your list is “dead on”. I officiate pro tournaments and virtually all pro have these baits in the small day bait box on deck. The only one I will add is the jack hammer chatter bait frequently has a Yamamoto Zako as trailer

Motion seconded for Max Scent flat worm for smallies. I fish a shallow (<3 ft.) rocky river to I usually hook the worm in the nose with a weedless hook.
  • LOVED this. I know this may seem like a contradiction but more of this kind of video would be great. Maybe more narrowing down on lures but maybe more simplification strategies on gear? Techniques? Man, this kind of fishing is like grad school. With all due respect, when I heard about a $200 lure at a recent outdoor show, I cringed.
  • What you are not telling your readers, is the modifications we make, like:- hook placement, hook size, additional weight (internal or external), line type, line test, rod type, reel speed, water depth, water clarity……

Great content. Any recommendations for alternatives to the Damiki Armor Shad? TW and my local bass pro are both sold out of the 3in.
  • @TimK4343
The armor shad was the most surprising to me. What color vision 110 were you showing in the video, out of curiosity?

■■■...just an idea: perhaps film the lures separately on a table top or something, then simply talk over the video.
