Drop shotting hair jigs for smallies is an underrated technique. You can also replace the dropshot weight with a finesse jig.
  • Thanks Tyler....I just started using the drop shot at the end of last season and looking forward to using it this upcoming fishing season. This was super helpful!

Thanks for the tips and techniques. Thanks for taking time making the videos!

That's some great stuff Tyler. I have just recently added a permanent drop shot set-up to my arsenal and can't imagine not having one every time I go out. However, I'm definitely guilty of your first topic. I cast out and twitch that bait all the way back to the boat. I have had pretty good success with that....but what if smoothing that bait back to boat gets me more? I will definitely be trying that out the next time I'm on the water. Thanks! And also, thanks for jumping right into your topics. As someone who watches a lot of YouTube fishing videos, it drives me crazy when people spend the first 5 minutes of a 10 minute video telling people to subscribe and hit the like button, yadda, yadda, yadda. So I appreciate it when others jump right in like you're doing.

For me I've found that a 3/16oz cylindrical weight on 6lb test fluoro works best with most baits
  • Great video I have been on the page as you are . I fish Lake Erie alot always seems to work me . I like the Robo worm 4 in morning dawn
  • @badluk1

Hi Tyler...I drop shot Roboworm MM the majority of the time and dead sticking it. It gets bit all the time. Great show
  • Thx great tip. I know I’m way too restless when drop shot fishing. Need some therapy for sure before I nail this art of fishing 😂

Dude, You hit this on 100% everything you touched on is key to being efficient at drop shot fishing. I do seminars on this and these are key points that I feature, especially for beginners. I learned from Aaron before he left us, Ike and Shaw. Great info Sir👍

6:43 in relation to the roboworm color reference the MW3 is a phenomenal color up north here in idaho, also I really like the PB&j

Good tips Tyler, last Thursday I caught a 4.7 lb. largemouth on a 4" MMIII Roboworm. Like you, I stick with Roboworms and also use the Berkeley Flatworm quite a bit.
  • @Steve_The_Angler
Good info as always. I’m definitely guilty of over working it

Excellent video (Again). Took 12 place a while back on the wolf River up north. All of my fish were caught on a drop shot robo worm. I am curious, what size hook do you use with your robo worms?
  • @134rwa
The Drop Shot is one of my favorites, the heaviest weight I use is 1/4 oz.

Love it when you refer to Lake Champlain. That’s because I live right on its New York shoreline.
