For the first time in 42 years, a camera enters Southern Libya in what was forbidden territory under the Gaddafi regime.

Shortly after Gaddafi’s demise, we accompany members of the disgraced Tabu tribe along the road to their impoverished desert territory near the Algeria-Niger-Chad borders 1000 Km from Tripoli.

Libyans are different in many ways. Some are black with dark features, some are white with light features and some are brown with light/dark features. I'm from the north of Libya in Albyda. I miss my country, it's the only place i wish to live in. It's a but ruined but it's on it's way to recovery which is what my uncle who is a commander in the Military told me. Trust me, the houses are like mansions! It's very rare that you don't see a house with two floors. Electricity used to be cut off every day for like 12 hours but just recently got fixed. There are a lot of rich families, at least near my area. Food is more expensive and it's harder to even get bread! Libya is beautiful, like in the Roman remains,

Under dictator Gaddafi libyans had free water, free electricity, free healthcare, subsidized housing, free education, bursaries galore to go abroad, good quality of life...he even supported & helped financially other African countries something Libya had absolutely no obligation to do. please bring him back!!

Call Nato they'll be right there to help you. This report needs to be seriously updated, because if things were bad under Gaddafi, what are they like now?
  • wow ! you are very good at making and presenting wrong information. So many people from our country had been working in Libya as Engineers, teachers etc. and still they are praising the country Libya because it was one of the richest country in Africa. People who talked in front of the camera are not Libyan they are migrant people. Amazing task #realstories.

First time in 42 years my arse, forbidden territory my arse. I worked that region on a Schlumberger seismic crew all through the late 90's. I even saw an expedition from the Landrover Club of Italy touring the Idhan Murzuk. Bloody journo's always looking for a scoop.

she said the security will come step by step. 5 years from when he said that the situation is even worse then they could have imagined. typical western attitude to a country she nows nothing about.
  • I am From Filipino, A while ago in my FB accnt. I read what kind of President that Gadaffi, Coz some of the statement was Gadaffi is a GOOD MAN, But some people hate him, So I'll do search about him then I'm glad that its worth! Very exciting story, Sorry Im only 20yrs of age, And I like the things like this, Any way Im so sad for those libyan citizen.
  • At 6:20, the reporter seems to be a advocate for one side herself, when she quells the argument that security is lacking.

This is a part of Gaddafi that Sub Saharan Africans don't know about. They hail him as some sort of a hero, someone who was for the betterment and advancement of all Africans, meanwhile he deliberately discriminated against other Libyans simply because they didn't come from his tribe.
  • No matter what anybody tells you Mummar Gaddafi was the greatest world leader of our time. The great man made river was engineered to rid Africa of imperialism by allowing the population to feed themselves. He loved his people and commanded his troops on the battlefield right up to the time he was overrun by American backed thugs. THE GREAT MUAMMAR GADDAFI, GOD BE GOOD TO HIM.

Libya, once richest country of Africa, now in ruins and governed by isis, sad state of affairs. Welcome to Western democracy. The truth is you can't force your democratic culture on wild tribes.
