From the first SKYLARK album in 1972. David Foster's entry into the music industry, along with his wife, B.J.Cook. She and Donny Gerrard both sang lead. "Wildflower" was Donny's hit, while this one should have been for B.J.

Stunning ❤ I dated a drummer he dedicated a song to me I’m now on palliative care 🎶this music brings tears to my eyes and a pure joy to my soul. 🎶

Kind words indeed.. Sadly my days of singing are behind me, however your recognition of our musical contribution is greatly appreciated. Believe me, being part of a 'timeless' album is something I'm incredibly proud of.. Thanks again...
  • I think i found a little bit of my❤ 1970's heart. A hazziness that beckons me back by a song my ears never actually heard but had all the components of that time period. Thank you for taking me back. A little part of me went with this song. ❤

How Royksopp could turn 30 seconds into the 2 1/2 minutes of genius in "Royksopp Forever", I'll never know. Kudos, nonetheless!
  • Skylark is like all these little bits of my soul I didn't even know I knew were missing until I heard each song.

Thanks to all who have listened and left comments.. We were so young, all of us filled with so much hope, we were truly living our dream! .. I listen to this with pride and gratitude to all who made it happen.. Bj

Picked this album up in 1973 on a whim and fell in love with it. A rare hidden gem where every song is burned into your soul. I still have the album but rarely play it for fear of wearing it out. And I fell in love with BJ Cooks voice. I swear she was singing to me !!

I have had this song played at my fathers burial ceremony 5 years ago and it still brings me to tears

I bought the album in the 1970's for Wildflower. When I first heard "I'll Have to Go Away" and BJ Cooks voice I was captivated. I wore this album out and still listened through the cracks and pops on my record player. Now I own it digitally. This is one my all time favorite songs from the 1970's.

Just heard this for the first time. I must say this far surpasses most of the formulaic tripe that passes for popular music these days.

This was my favorite tune on the album, which I bought back in '73.  I recognized David Foster's great talent even back then.

I bought the album when it was released in 1972. This song still electrifies me today just as it did back then. A perfect vocal to a brilliantly written, arranged and produced track! Thanks for chiming in Bj!!! Your comments made my day! My best to you! Your silken vocals will always be a major part of my life.

One of my dearest friends sent this to me today, to, as she put it, 'remind me of my gloriousness' .. LOL How flattering, but I must say that 42 yrs later, I'm still extremely proud of Skylark, and her short but amazing flight..

One of my all time favorite oldies. Too bad it never had much air time in the '70s. It should have been a mega hit...

Someone very kindly sent me a lovely email complimenting me on this song.. I too am still so blown away when I hear how good this band was.. David Foster, was 22 yrs old when he wrote that intro.. his first attempt at writing strings.. not bad for a bunch of young hungry kids from British Columbia, Canada..

Heard this song once. Fell in love with it and never heard it again, until last year. Other people had heard it, but nobody knew who did it.

Amazing - I'd heard this song only once before and have been searching for it almost 40 years now. Somehow, with just that one time, the chorus stuck with me. Something brought it to mind this morning, I entered the lyrics in lyrster.com, and there it was. Funny thing is, I had no idea it was Skylark till today - I've met Foster on numerous occassion, probably crossed paths with Maxwell and some of the others, never knew it was them. A brilliant, beautiful piece of work, finding it made my day.

Ah, that's where "Royksopp Forever" theme had been taken from :)

I still have this Skylark album that I picked up around 1974 in Australia in a import record discount shop for around $1 AUD. These two tracks were always my favourite...must have played them hundreds of times (on cassette tape compilations). Never knew too much about the band in Australia in the days before the internet.....thankfully, albeit a little delayed, that has been remedied.... a beautiful moment captured in time....forever thankful has always been part of my own musical journey.
