  • Alex - You humble me with your video that shows the rocks I sent to you were part of your latest video on YouTube. I have been collecting since the early 1970's and have amassed a few hundred pounds of rock (maybe a few ton). Always happy to help someone that is starting to enjoy what I consider the greatest and most rewarding hobby in the world. I always enjoy Kip's and your videos. A great pair to watch! Keep the videos coming.
  • In a world where hate and conflict are emphasized and promoted it fills my heart to see a post about the kindness of strangers! Thanks for sharing!
  • @donnawest866
Parley and Tessa, you are such generous people! I get so much pleasure seeing the beautiful stones and fossils Mother Earth provides! And when talented people like all of you get hold of them and you do your magic....it’s just WOW!!! Thanks for sharing!

Stromatolites are an algae growth phenomena. They Form as mats of algae, multiple layers develop. They sort of look like legs sticking out of the ocean topped by a green scummy layer. You can still find them in some areas of the world. Stromatolites were one of the first life forms on planet Earth. We find their fossilized remains on some of the beaches along Lake Michigan. For a better explanation google them.
  • Parley and Tessa, so kind, and generous of you to share these beautiful finds! I not only enjoy the beauty of these treasures, but also being educated about all the variety that can be found! Thank you!
  • @sandmaker
Another fun video. Keep them coming. I love picture jasper and all jaspers. Be safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
  • My husband came in while I was watching this video and he didn’t understand so I had to explain to him that people who love rocks love to share with other people who love rocks.
  • @TheoKellison
That's quite the care package! Lots of gems in there! Gotta love those picture jaspers. Stromatolites are fossilized bacterial algal matts and are among the oldest fossils ever discovered (we're talking billions of years). They are super cool. Oh my gosh that dryhead! Awesome vid bud👍
  • @MichiganRocks
Hey Alex, thanks for the mention! I don't have time to watch all the other rock hunters on YouTube, so I missed this one. @Mary-Ann Swanson just left a comment on my channel telling me about this video. I'm glad you have a few Michigan rocks in your collection!
  • @hukeaz

I have been a rock lover since I was old enough to walk. My anxiety has always held me back from pursuing the hunt. I do have a few rocks I've collected over the years, but I have always envied the rockhounds that have gone out and hunted for stones. thank you for showing those beautiful pieces. and a loud shout out to all the generous people out there who sent those stones.
  • @rasedase4899
I can’t decide what is my favorite....all of them 😉
