A lot of people probably didn't notice this in the show but bandit says "he's just trying to be a good dad" to bingo about the magpie , but, with most birds, the dad leaves before the mom even lays the eggs, so I think that maybe bandit is thinking about how his parenting has been for the past couple years, possibly.
