Born too late to explore earth, born too early to explore space, born just in time to live in a cyberpunk dystopian nightmare
  • ai videos terrify me so much from a crime-centered perspective. like you're telling me someone can make a video of me comitting a crime??? and it looks very real?????? thats scary as shit

I'll never forget the fact that OpenAI was almost gloating that they would put millions of people out of a job. Increasing poverty and ensuring that artistic expression can no longer be a career is the main goal here
  • Seeing Will Smith absolutely violate that spaghetti triggered a primal fight or flight reaction I didn't know my brain was capable of

The new AI videos are terrifying to artists and animators.

2:56 My school literally used AI to make poster art instead of letting one of the art students do it, there are some really talented kids here and Shoreline still decided that dalle was better smh my head

I can always tell that puppies playing in snow video is AI generated based on how wobbly and jiggly the snouts are. AI really trying to make real dogs squash and stretch like cartoons with every motion.

100% human made is going to be the new fairtrade logo 💀

White male in green hoodie, medical face mask, and sunglasses holding a fuzzy microphone talking about the advances of AI Infront of a white board reading "GSUPPS CODE "KWITW"" on his right and a cans of ggsupps behind him on a table to his right, littered with other small objects, cutting to twitter messages often. Photorealistic.

An interesting thing regarding AI copyright law is that PETA (yeah, those guys) might have actually given lawyers an opportunity to prevent the copyright of works made by AI. Basically, a while ago, there was a photographer shooting photos of animals. When they were doing it, a monkey took their camera and ran off. When they managed to retrieve the camera, the team found a couple photos that were taken by the monkey. Later, when the photographer published the selfies taken by the monkey, PETA tried to argue that since the monkey was the one who shot the photo, the copyright holder of the photo would be the monkey and not the photographer. The judge of the case thought that this was stupid, because, you know, it's a monkey that would gain no benefit from holding a copyright nor have any way to hold a claim on it. So the judge ruled against PETA to state that only works that are made by humans are able to be copyrighted. Because of the precedent that case set, any attempt to copyright something made by AI would most likely fail, since it was made by a machine and not a human. This might be the one time that PETA did something good and it was entirely because they failed.

Huh... Seems like the "me in court watching an AI generated 4K video of me comitting war crimes " memes are actually becoming real now... Great D:
  • @Zooollieg
Imagine some dude robs a bank then the judge is like “that camera footage looks pretty AI to me”
  • I FUCKIN HATE THE WILL SMILL EATING SPAGETTI AND IT HUANTS ME ON PINTEREST
  • @clownnzzed
Okay but imagine how fucking terrifying it’d be if someone made an ai generated video of you doing illegal, sexual, or hateful acts, and they can blackmail you with that, the video seeming so realistic people would believe your blackmailer instead of you.

Currently most copyright offices seem in agreement that a work has to be made by a person to be copyrighted so now, ai generated material cannot be copyrighted.
  • As a tech person, ai scares me, but I have been doing my own research and came to this conclusion If AI will dominate art and videos where humans are not needed, the AI content will be trained on itself, thus, it degrades and get worse over time
  • @kylelee5966
I dont think people realize that this doesn't just affect artists but literally any job reliant on a visual medium: jobs at risk: general artists animators (all in the pipeline) graphic designers news anchors models actors voice actors photographers and probably many more

You feel happy when AI can do your job, and then you realize AI can do your job.
  • @Ilikecatsl0l
AI is the most mind-boggling and blood-curling thing i've seen in my entire existence
