Littleproud taking ‘sensible approach’ to Jobs and Skills Summit

Published 2022-08-13
Acting Prime Minister Richard Marles says he welcomes National Leader David Littleproud’s “sensible approach” to attend the Jobs and Skills Summit.

“He’s wanting to come around the table and have a conversation about how we can address this great national challenge together,” he told Sky News Australia.

Mr Marles added he is not surprised Opposition Leader Peter Dutton declined an invitation.

  • Oh nothing is going to happen to these people. Nothing's going to happen if we continue to keep our head in the sand, if we allow them to distract us, if we allow them to make us forget.
  • Never forget that your lost your job for refusing to take something that they knew wasn't going to work. Even worse you took something that they knew wasn't going to work just to keep your job. At best you're going to get the thing it was supposed to prevent. And at worst you are going to get serious side effects.
  • All I know, is this government seems to be commencing a wage suppression strategy, via mass skilled migration. And of course, we get a lovely by product: supercharged housing prices and rents.

It isn't sensible! It will be like going on Q&A. He will be the resident punching bag. It will be like the dunking machine at a fairground attraction where Littleproud will be sitting on the collapsible seat and the unions and other Labor stooges will be trying to hit the target to dunk him. But, because he is taking the Nats to the left, he thinks it is a good move.
