After so many years of just repeating the lyrics, actually understanding the message as an adult can really bring tears to the eyes bc almost all of these scenarios are relatable, fortunately or unfortunately. It’s really a beautiful song to reflect on and remember live has its ups and downs but we gotta ride it out to see the outcome. We’re just ordinary people ❤❤❤

I have replayed this song so much , sometimes I think that John Legend just gets up at the end to get more water and then comes back.

I danced to this song with my husband at our wedding because it’s an honest song about ups and downs of a relationships

This song will always be a chapter in my life . Years and it still promoted feelings you think you had lost . Great song x

This song was involved in so many beautiful memories in our relationship... I ended up hurting the love of my life and she ended things. I'm respectfully giving her all of the space she needs to heal and to grow and in the meantime, I'm working on learning this on the piano and hope to be able to sing and play at the same time. I'm pouring all of my heart and soul into doing this for her because the lyrics truly capture not only how I feel, but also what's happened in our relationship and how we could fix things... I hope that I'll be able to surprise her later this summer and speak straight to her heart from my heart through this song. Please wish me luck, everyone. She has been my best friend for half a decade and a life without her in it would be hollow.
