On 6th July 2023, 8-year-old Nuria Sajjad was reading out a list of her hopes for the Summer holidays at a tea party hosted by her school. But those dreams turned into a living nightmare when a vehicle ploughed into the playground, seriously injuring Nuria and her mum, Smera. Nuria’s injuries were fatal and she passed away in hospital three days later, with Smera sustaining multiple injuries. Mum Smera and dad Sajjad join us to share their frustration at the lack of legal progress 8 months on and to remember their daughter a day after what would have been her 9th birthday.

These parents are so articulate despite the trauma they’re going through. Their pain can be felt. I hope and pray that sweet Nuria gets justice.

Finally getting some news on this tragic event in Wimbledon. It disgusts me that the UK media outlets just ‘brushed over’ this.

My heart is absolutely breaking for this family & Selina's family... in absolute tears. RIP Nurria & Selina - they deserve justice

I’m so so so so heartbroken to see “smiling “ faces on parents. This smile hides so much pain on their heart 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

How disgusting for the police to imply and tell the parents their daughter was so insignificant that sufficient resources couldn’t be found to investigate the collision! How insulting for the parents and adding to their suffering!!! Shame on you Met Police!!!😡

Aww darling Nuria. Justice will be served. I hope that the driver is watching that video and living million times in pain more than your mamma. It utterly disgusts me that London legal authorities have not been able to bring that person to justice.

If this had been a Muslim man with a beard, he would have been charged with terrorism. However the woman was obviously someone very important and so she's been shielded.

The driver is a danger to society. Who are they and why are they being allowed to roam free? We all deserve to know.

Worst pain no parent would wish their child to pass before them especially this young age.Devastating.😢
  • Having watched Selena’s parents heartbreaking interview already and now these two beautiful people I cannot adequately express how saddened and appalled I am by the silence. What dignified parents. What beautiful, precious daughters needlessly killed. Why is there a silence? Why is there seemingly no justice?

This is so awful. Poor poor parents. I'm crying so much listening to her mum x 😢 I wish them peace x
  • I am so, so sorry for the pain these beautiful parents are suffering. And other families affected. These two are so well spoken, despite their palpable pain.

Watching this harrowing in itself so I can only imagine these poor parents are going through. The intensity of their grief is so palpable. For such a lovely family to have lost such a wonderful little girl is utterly tragic. I really hope they get the answers they need and emotional support to help them with such enormous trauma.

This just breaks my heart into a million pieces. I have a miracle daughter that we didn’t think we’d ever get. After so much loss and tragedy in our lives I can’t imagine losing her. I wouldn’t even know what to say to them in a situation like this. I’ve lost a late term pregnancy but that doesn’t even come close to this loss. I really hope they get their justice 💜

I am deeply suspicious of the reasons why this woman has not been charged. I suspect that she is in an elite position and the powers that be do not want to charge her. The Drs would know by now if she had had a medical episode at the wheel.

Beautiful little baby girl —so sad —I’m so sorry
