    1. Get it in the calendar 2. Pay for stuff in advance 3. Commit to people so you have accountability And a lot of things will take care of themselves after that

As a computer scientist I can attest to the idea of a task switching cost. It's called context switching for a computer process and it is *expensive*. Minimize it as much as possible.

This dude is criminally underrated and underappreciated

Another great video lesson, Tim! I am really enjoying this style of content you are putting out. Here's what I got out of this video: 1. You will never find balance - "You won't find it because you have to schedule it." - Examples: batching (ie. Admin work on Mondays, Podcast recording on Fridays), Content Creation Week (this is quarterly), regular Art Creation time (ie. 90-minute drawing session once/week) 2. Schedule Off-Grid Time - 1-2 weeks blocked out and prepaid for (leaves a penalty for canceling = loss aversion). No reading, no writing. 3. Put it in the calendar! - If it is not penciled in, you will self-sabotage or neglect and end up paying the price later 4. Commit to things by paying in advance and involving outsiders for accountability

I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. youtube.com/post/Ugkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIat… This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!
  • Starting to use Self-Reflection on a regular basis (using my journal) really was the key to boost my productivity but also happiness with my life to a whole new level

Wow... Put balance items on your calendar. How beautifully simple. Drawing, photography here I come.
  • "You won't find "balance", you need to schedule it /find it" .... and that goes with many things people (we) sometimes wait for life to just throw it in our faces.
  • @taforth
I appreciate your transparency. Specifically, when you are talking about aspects of what you would like to cover in the video, and instead of providing generic examples, you choose to provide your own personal examples instead 👍.

  • @mitchrankin6601
Batching has been a key factor in helping me create some balance. Something I learned from your early day - thanks Tim!
  • @muizzdicky6823
I genuinely like your content Tim, it helps alot when in time like this quarantine
  • @VihanChelliah
Totally agree that there isn't a perfect answer. Having a content creation week coupled with consistency has been the secret to any of my growth online.
  • Sometimes I want to double-like. One thumbs up is not enough. This is one of them.
  • @khallingstad
Love how these videos come out exactly when I am thinking and pondering on the same questions. Great stuff Tim. Keep up the good work
