“I want our music to feel like we’re giving the listener a hug” isn’t the expected answer from an artist categorically in the metal genre. Yet for Danish-Swedish quartet, VOLA, they defy conventions, combining electronic elements with a progressive and pop-infused metal sound, which at times really does feel like you’re embraced with the melodies of lead vocalist and guitarist, Asger Mygind. The melancholic characteristic of their music is one of their shining uniquenesses. Some of it feels like a lullaby, when suddenly, you’re hit with a barrage of heavy down-tuned guitars and a driving rhythm section. Yet somehow the worlds blend.

Performing songs off their 2021 album, “Witness” as well as their 2024 single "Paper Wolf," VOLA's From Nothing serves as a testament to the enigmatic energy they bring to both their recordings and their live performance. Their music takes listeners on a journey that integrates the complexities of relationships on both personal and societal levels. The message behind their music as well as their ability to evolve and redefine their sound, has resonated deeply with VOLA's ever-growing fan base worldwide.

We are very proud to present, VOLA, on Audiotree From Nothing!

I don't know about others, but VOLA music definitely feels like getting a hug. A firm, confident, warm and comforting Scandinavian hug that smells like cinnamon buns and apple pastries that is there for you on a cold, wet, short winter day. I could go on, but I think I've made my weird point. Long live VOLA.
  • VOLA are some of the nicest people ever. I seen them in Toronto last year and it was the BEST concert I've ever been to. I recently went through an apartment fire where I lost everything, including my vast collection of VOLA merch. They heard about it, reached out and sent me a care package including shirts, albums, patches, picks, and a handwritten postcard. During one of the lowest moments of my life, that put a gigantic smile on my face amd I soo desperately needed that. They simply are the best. I'm soo excited for new music :)
  • The keyboard/synth makes everything sound so much bigger. Vola rules.

Vola is the only metal band who lets you feel love, positive energy , goosebumps but also kicks you in the balls, creeps you out and make you cry.

i found this band bc craig reynolds posted a reaction video to adam playing 24 light years. there have been some losses in my life that i never wanted to get over. "i could leave this house, but i won't. there's an echo that seems to live on." hearing that line definitely felt like a hug i had waited years to get. VOLA forever

YAAAAASSSSS! I came across Vola in 2021 and they’ve been a personal favorite ever since. Asger is a role model— singing and ripping those riffs simultaneously is madness. Couldn’t have clicked this any faster!!
