Blind man ask me forgiveness
I won't deny myself
Disrespect you have given
Your suffering's my wealth
I feed off pain, force fed to love it
And now I swallow whole
I'll never live in the past
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast

Burn my fist to the concrete
My fear is my strength
Power, rage unbound because
Been pounded by the streets
Cyanide blood burns down the skyline
Hatred is purity
The bullet connects at last
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast

Scarred
Pour the salt in the wound
Unscarred

One of the greatest opening riffs ever.
  • This is metal , if anyone asks you what metal is , this song is it
  • Bought ‘Burn my Eyes’ on CD at 15 years old. Now sat in my home office as a 43 year old father of three with headphones on, fixing networks, still listening to this masterpiece.

This song doesn't age, it just gets heavier and heavier.
  • I don't think people realize how legendary this is. I feel bad for those who only listen to mainstream music.

The 90s metal at its purest :) Pantera, Machine Head, Sepultura, Biohazard etc. etc.

    0% naked girls 0% sex 100% talent 100% badassery 105% metal 200% Shotgun Blast

I remember having bought the CD of this tune one year after it was released, back in 1995, and I must state it blew me away from the very beginning. The musical production of all the tunes was meant to pursue excellency, and their lyrics are indeed genuine. In my opinion, these four dudes are actually doing a great job. And to conclude, it would be important to point out that they set the standard for the new generation of musicians who perform power metal.
  • Best gig i went to. Machine Head supporting Slayer in 94 / 95 in Wolverhampton.
  • First time heard this, a couple of decades ago, is when I truly appreciated how much a drummer can put into their craft. The drums on this track are amazing.
  • Metal isn't for everyone, but for those that rock, jams like this are totally for us. Rock on metalheads \../,
  • I listened to this when it came out in 1994. I was 13. Had a huge Machine head logo on my school bag. Kids thought I was a Satanist as I grew up in a very conservative South Africa I think Burn my Eyes was probably the best debut album ever by a metal band. Now 26 years later this song still kicks ass

Man shout out to now-underrated Christ Kontos. This song IS the drums.

Maaaan! I remember my dad giving me this album as a birthday gift. I was around 10 and this shit blew my mind! I had only listened to offspring and metallica before this. This song gives me the flashbacks of me jumping around in my room blasting it through the crazy speakers i got with the album, jumping around headbanging like I'm in a moshpit! Love it! (sorry for my english)
