Everyone who's claiming she's a scapegoat wants to make this political because of Baldwin. She was the armorer, and brought live rounds to a movie set. I'm not sure how much more wrong you can be.
-
Ms. Gutierrez brought live rounds to a movie set and then allowed crew members to use the guns and live ammo 'for fun', during breaks in filming. Those facts alone, put her in prison and she should be there a lot longer than 18 months.
-
She brought live ammo to the set

She's not a scapegoat, Alec Baldwin is not walking, he still has an involuntary manslaughter trial coming up in July. Negligence is not the same as accidental. Even in firearms handling and training there's a difference between a 'negligent discharge' and an 'accidental discharge' of a firearm.
-
It's only 18 months maximum. I know someone did 7 years state time after an undercover sting operation.
-
Her and Baldwin share blame. Baldwin was a producer who was involved in hiring her, the loose non-union safety culture on set, and the guy who pulled the trigger. I do agree that this doesn't require new guidelines, it requires basic responsibility in following them.
-
Who hired her in the first place. She was not experienced.
-
So the Producers who hired her do they get charged? They put a complete amateur in charge.
-
How about the guy that pulled the trigger? How is he not getting any time?
-
She deserve 18 years in prison but only sentenced to 18 months.
-
Both are responsible.
-
She wasn't thrown under the bus. The pistol was being used as a prop. The actor was meant to point the pistol at the camera and pull the trigger. Under no circumstance was there to be a live round in the gun being used as a prop. That's why she was there. That's why these weapons were under her charge and she was being paid. I don't blame the actor. Baldwin was just as much the victim as the people injured and killed. As far as Baldwin as the producer, sue him for millions.
-
How does someone become a "gun expert" who wouldn't check it before it's pointed at a person, trigger pulled? Must be DEI officer at the Studios.
-
Where was all of this selective outrage towards the actor that accidentally killed Brandon Lee on the set of The Crow back in 93?? You all saying that about Akec is simply because of politics.
-
She eats spaghetti without a fork
-
Tears because she is going to jail.
-
How could anyone blame Baldwin?? I am not a fan of his but how could he know the gun had real bullets in it?
-
that's Hanah Guteerezz .. she killed Helena Hutchen
-
Baldwin should have checked the gun before use how ever one of the question that needs to be asked is who handled the gun and loaded it before baldwin received it and why was there live ammo on the set

American justice system is SCREWED.
