Experience the story of THE HUNGER GAMES — 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem.

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

Lionsgate presents, a Color Force / Lionsgate / about:blank production.

  • Suzanne Collins really dropped a series that shaped a whole generation, disappeared, and appears again with another hit. This woman is like the equivalent of Adele.

They should make a movie or series about Young Haymitches hunger games experience.
  • “It’s the things we love most that destroy us.” Now that I know exactly what he meant when he said that… it breaks my heart 🥺

I love Peter dinklages line about snow falling. I can’t get enough of it 😂

The way Snow says his line from Mockingjay part 1 gave me goosebumps "It's the things that we love most that destroy us"

This movie already sounded great, but casting Peter Dinklage as Casca was a stroke of genius. The man kills every role he is in!

“enjoy the show!” always sends chills through me

This film certainly was one for the fans. Giving us an amazing backstory to Snow, all the while providing an entertaining and exhilarating atmosphere, and the ‘anti-Katniss’, Lucy Grey. What a beautifully made film. I enjoyed every minute. 🔥

Watching Snow's transition from a wanting-to-be-kind peacekeeper to the ruthless killer he was in the movies is gonna be a treat to watch
  • @AbrahamSamma
That rage where Snow starts shooting at the mockingjays in frustration is beautifully captured here. This is going to be lovely to watch.

I read the hunger games when i was 14 and the movies came out when i was 15. I just watched this film today in my mid 20s and relived so many of the same feelings

This is so surreal. Like I can’t believe we’re coming back to this franchise almost a decade later!!! I’m crying tears of freaking Joy!!!
  • This book was ACTUALLY a decent prequel and a decent villian backstory. Truly proves protagonist doesn’t mean good guy, just main character. Excited to see this on the big screen.

Fantastic film, the way they brought snows demise to evil was brilliantly done.

I never read the books. But I know that her Hanging Tree song was about Snow. Her being a player for D12 and singing that song must’ve made things hard when he went against Katniss. Katniss used the song to be about rebellion and it was used against him. And a player from D12 who bows similar to Lucy. I’m so excited to see this movie!

Telling Snow’s backstory in the big screen? I’m all in for this he’s probably the most intriguing part of the Hunger Games story for me.
  • This trailer is quite literally PERFECT! It isn't the tone I imagined, but it's the tone that is necessary. WE'VE RETURNED TO THE HUNGER GAMES!

Having now watched the movie I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and how much I enjoyed it. Cool to know that Daddy Snow partly came up with the idea for the hunger games and Coryo changing the games to what we get in the Hunger Games movies. Also, some great performances all around; Viola Davis as Gaul was great, she was unhinged and overacted in the best way

0:35 Katniss did exactly the same when bowing before the judges.
