About Mayim Bialik:
You might know me as Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory or from Blossom but there are so many other parts of me that you might not be aware of! I’m trained as a neuroscientist, I'm a passionate activist, an observant Jew, a perfectly imperfect mother, and I'm a complicated human being like many of you. This is the place where I wear all of those hats - and none of them have a flower on them! ;)

  • My dad tested 100% Ashkenazi Jewish. His reaction: "I'm so happy, I never got 100% on anything before in my life", lol.
  • I gave up a baby girl 47 years ago..she has found me after 47 years due to dna testing......great stuff! ❤️

Believe this or not, I met your grandmother in the early 90s in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. I was a walking in the area, I was a salesman at the time and approached her to make a sale. She spoke of you, at the time you were doing Blossom.
  • My Dad called me to say, "Hey I'm your father." I said, "Well glad to know that that could have been awkward if we weren't." I love my Dad for creating a Star Wars moment even if the obvious.
  • @redsoles1
Nope I’m only 93% Jewish. But my girlfriend who was raised Catholic took the test and she’s actually 98 % Jewish... she wondered how she was going to tell her sister who was a nun .. but when she did her sister wisely said ... “ well Jesus was a Jew”! Perfect answer!

I'm 50 percent Jewish & 50 percent Italian. Was supposed to be all Italian, mom has some explaining to do after 60 years. Any who I have a sister and a brother , I never knew about. Luckily I'm getting to know my sister. So happy, she's my Birdie!

Weird they didn't mention that you are funnier than 99.9% of people
  • “I’m a very messy eater” Sheldon: Please tell me you’re kidding...

I love you. You are so down to earth. Love all the “fun” of who you are. Your over movements and all.
  • Mayim: "I'm the Jewiest person anyone knows. Whatever the Jews were chosen for, I've got it" LMAO!!!!
  • @jojogpt
Why am I discovering her channel now? What was YouTube recommendations doing until now?
  • @gaslighthotel
I am adopted and because of certain laws I have been prevented from tracking down birth family to get medical/genetic/bio history, so I took the 23andMe test. I knew enough about my natural history to know that there was a strong strong European component, so I had a hunch that I would probably encounter a smidgen of Ashkenazi in my genetic makeup. The test came back at a whopping 25%!!! I was so thrilled, but even more Mayim, what you said about seeing this information and understanding how it connects you to so much, even if there had only been a small amount in your DNA, is exactly how I felt as an adopted person. It helped me feel like I was part of something greater and more special.
