There are a lot of movies in the Godzilla franchise, 38 to be exact.

And while many of them are made with a lot of action and a touch of horror on the side...a good handful of them are just hilariously goofy without even trying. If you thought that new Godzilla x Kong movie was pretty freaking goofy, then you ain’t seen the ones I’m about to talk about in this video. And I wanna talk about a few of my personal and favorite ones that fit the level of goofiness I’m tryna talk about, especially the ones that came out during the 60s to early 70s. I’ll also be giving some honorable mentions on other old Godzilla movies that aren’t necessarily funny throughout the whole movie, but definitely have some goofy moments in them

Now to extend this description, here’s Wikipedia yapping about it to you:

Godzilla (Japanese: ゴジラ, Hepburn: Gojira, /ɡɒdˈzɪlə/; [ɡoꜜ(d)ʑiɾa]) is a fictional monster, or kaiju, that debuted in the eponymous 1954 film, directed and co-written by Ishirō Honda. The character has since become an international pop culture icon, appearing in various media: 33 Japanese films produced by Toho Co., Ltd., five American films, and numerous video games, novels, comic books, and television shows. Godzilla has been dubbed the King of the Monsters, an epithet first used in Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956), the American localization of the 1954 film.

Originally and in most iterations of the creature, Godzilla is a prehistoric reptilian or dinosaurian monster that is amphibious or resides partially in the ocean, awakened and empowered after many years by exposure to nuclear radiation and nuclear testing. With the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Lucky Dragon 5 incident still fresh in the Japanese consciousness, Godzilla was conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons. Others have suggested that Godzilla is a metaphor for the United States, a "giant beast" woken from its "slumber" that then takes terrible vengeance on Japan. As the film series expanded, some storylines took on less serious undertones, portraying Godzilla as an antihero or lesser threat who defends humanity. Later films address disparate themes and commentary, including Japan's apathy, neglect, and ignorance of its imperial past, natural disasters, and the human condition.

  • @LordDaiki
I’ve been seeing hella comments cook me about what I called the second Godzilla movie at 00:54. I guess I meant to say Godzilla raids again so my bad for saying “Godzilla strikes back” at that part 😂
  • Still disappointed they haven’t recreated the epic Godzilla drop kick in any of the recent monster verse movies
  • I love the Millenium era, it has its goofy moments but its mostly serious
  • >old Godzilla movies were extremely goofy shows picture from a commercial in the thumbnail Lol. Lmao even Honestly, Vs Hedorah wasn’t even that goofy. The flying scene was literally that. One scene. The rest of the movie is played pretty straight. People will look at the same three scenes of the Showa era and assume the whole era is like that.
  • I watched Godzilla’s revenge as a kid, and as an adult it’s still as bad as I remember lmao
  • And 1954 is the darkest godzilla movie. that's why i love it to death, but my favorite godzilla is shin
  • Ok am I the only person who wants to see Godzilla talk in another movie soon?
  • Man you need way more likes cuz you deserve more anyway
  • Alright if you find them goofy that’s cool but if you say they’re bad then you’re tripping.
  • Godzilla picking up his tail and flying. Nah. He breaks physics. Btw I’m a Godzilla fan
  • 3:13 the reason why Kong does not look like a gorilla because rko picture the past owners of King Kong said to toho they will use the name but not the design
