Producers: How many songs do you want in this thing? Paul McCartney: Yes

In the 70's, my sister used to have the radio on while she fell asleep. It was am radio, we both had the same clock radio next to our beds; the wall we shared was not insulated. It used to piss me off that she could fall asleep to music and I couldn't. There were many nights I can recall this being played. I used to go into her room and turn it off when she fell asleep. I miss you, Ms. Lioness. The rain exploded with a mighty crash, and you fell into the sun much too early. Goodnight again sis. You're still on the run.
  • In my mind, this is Paul's solo masterpiece. Here he experimented with sounds and just created an album that is clearly from the mid 70s, but it just resonates on and on....A True Classic!

Still fascinated by the transitions in this song.

    The McCartney's Bohemian Rhapsody. Awesome.

My father caught me singing "Band on the Run" in the bathroom, when I was six. He said, "Ok, 'band on the run', go take a nap".

You can always tell a Paul McCartney song, first the catchy tune gets in your head then goes straight to your heart

"if we ever get out of here" - Nov 2020
  • 3 songs in one with musical transitions. One of the best songs from the recording career of Paul McCartney and Wings!

Let's spare a thought for Ginger Baker who recently passed away, he is the one who helped McCartney and his Wings by opening the doors of his own studio in Lagos because the one they had chosen to record this album was not up to scratch, so Ginger contributed in its own way to this album becoming a masterpiece without being credited for that

I woke up as a child listening to this in the 70's because of my parents blasting this! That was our wake up music!!! I love to this day the memories!!!

Its 2/8/2019, I'm 29, and crashing in my friend's basement, listening to this song and singing along because I heard it on the radio two days ago and the damn hook won't get out of my head.

John is not Paul, Paul is not George, George is not Ringo. Apart, they all did well. Together they were a legend.
  • Still one of the best songs ever written. Sir. McCartney, you beautiful genius.
  • I remember when this song came out in the early summer of 1974. What makes it so amazing from a purely musical standpoint is that Paul McCartney played the bass, electric guitar and drum parts while Denny Laine played keyboards and Linda McCartney did background vocals. You've got to have enormous talent to be able to play that many instruments that well and more or less do the whole album yourself.
