While spending time in Twin Falls Idaho we took a day trip up to the very windy Craters of the Moon National Monument where we saw miles of hardened lava flow, and the locations where the astronauts studies moon landing and rock sample collecting techniques. The visitors center does a great job of explaining the geology of this strange land covered in cinder cone volcanos and you can get up close on the loop drive.
