  • Ah Florida, the only state that gets more Southern the more North you go...
  • @sambradley7393
Interesting to see that US soldiers are disproportionally from the south
  • @ravenmike5231
I personally believe depending on what cause/agenda would cause the split, i believe the states would divide up a whole lot differently this time.
  • As a southerner, seeing how deeply divided we are, I would not be at all suprised if something like this happens soon. I do think that states like Missouri, west Virginia, Kentucky, and Oklahoma would join the confederacy in todays times.
  • US and Confederacy finds oil on each other BBC: United States invade United States

Walmart headquarters is in Arkansas. The South would win as there would be a never ending supply of guns, bullets, jelly donuts and diet cokes.
  • @calebbalts7618
I personally think that there would be more states joining the confederacy as well as a population shift with people taking sides
  • @Foxhaven2482
Lets be honest idaho, Northand South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming would probably join them as well which would give them the oil advantage and an agriculture advantage as well

RealLifeLore: “What if the Confederacy was reunited today?” Abraham Lincoln would like to know your location
  • @calvin5541
If it reunited today West Virginia and Kentucky would definitely join, no question about it
  • Kentucky and Missouri were "neutral" but were recognized by both governments. Kentucky even had Frankfort as the union state capital but bowling Green was the confederate capital of the state. Id imagine if it happened again you'd basically have to have a passport to cross the Ohio river

This is fascinating. It’s similar to a thought experiment I’ve thought would be interesting: what would the U.S. be like now if the confederate army had won and we’d split into two different countries back then?
  • @radecri
But how many Toyota Corollas would be in the country?

The Confederacy: *Reunites* The United States: *Starts Civil War* Maine: 😏🇨🇦
  • @7bridgesroad213
There would be at least 10 states added to the CSA. Wouldn’t just be north and south. It would be liberal vs conservative.
  • Thanks to this video I found out the entire State of Texas used to have a smaller population around the time of the Civil War than my current city of residence does now, even though it is a mid-sized city at best by today's standards. I can only imagine how distinct daily life must have been back then.
  • If this happened today, I don’t think Virginia would break away like they did back then. But I would also add states like Kentucky, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
  • Notice how the south’s military would be practically the same size as the north’s? Yet the north has double the population...that’s because MOST of the US military comes from southern and rural states.
  • @KommandoL
One thing that isnt really being considered is the reason for fighting. While southern states would be fighting a war of territorial defense and autonomy from the union, union soldiers would be fighting to preserve the union. Of course there are plenty of other factors but I feel like this is one of the biggest ones that was left out.
