The fact that lockwood and co barely got any promotion but was getting nominated for awards all by itself just to then get cancelled was so unfair
  • @HeisenbergFam
Netflix has mastered the ability to disappoint at this point
  • @supernovaaura
Netflix greenlight'd Emily in Paris for S4 but canceled Lockwood is beyond my comprehension.

I was hooked in Lockwood and Co. from the first episode. The cast looked like actual teenagers and fit the roles so well. I was so looking forward to the next season. I was so sad when I heard it was cancelled.

Netflix lost me when they renewed The Society for a S2, only for them to cancel it 2 weeks away from filming s2. While their crew was already setting up things in Massachusetts, and the cast had their flights booked. They found out online that Netflix canceled them. Netflix blamed Covid. YET, Outer Banks got to film their S2 2 months later. We would have waited to film The Society. Netflix screwed the entire cast and crew and their fans on that one. And I'll NEVER be over it. Shadow and Bone deserved better too.

The most frustrating with Lockwood & Co is Netflix didn't do any marketing for it, hardly anyone knew that it came out

I honestly think the Netflix executives don’t realize what doomed circle they created. Shows get cancelled all the time -> people stop starting to watch smaller, less known shows bc they will get canceled anyway -> show doesn’t meet the numbers -> gets cancelled …. I for myself can genuinely say that my Netflix consumption has gone down A LOT due to this. I rarely just go and start to watch random shows, bc I don’t want to get invested in them. But even big titles like Shadow& Bone don’t seem to be safe so ….. guess those will slowly die down too

Netflix keeps doing this and it honestly makes me shy away from watching any originals they make because I’m not interested in risking being eternally left on a cliffhanger. Which is such a shame because I miss out on some incredible shows but I just hate it when stories don’t have conclusions. They’re just not selling me a desire to watch anything new. It gives me a “why bother” feeling, because even when these shows do get views, they cancel it anyway.

I was so pissed that Lockwood and co got cancelled and now even shadow and bone is gone. Its so frustrating how netflix is killing amazing shows
  • @AshlynnWittchow
Thank you so much for boosting both Shadow and Bone and Lockwood & Co. The Netflix executives making decisions clearly aren't storytellers and that is for sure.
  • Honestly, it frustrates me so much. Julie and the Phantoms dropped on sept of 2020 and had a loving vocal fanbase and they strung us the fandom and the cast along for like a year before the canceled it. It won multiple awards and they still canceled it. It's a really sweet show about a girl overcoming her grief while performing with these three ghosts she accidentally summons. I cannot rec it enough despite ONLY HAVING 8 EPSIDOES AND BEING CANCELED

Lockwood and Co is arguably one of the best shows I've ever seen, (and I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to shows) when I heard that Netflix had cancelled it, I can't tell you how shocked I was. Same goes for the Society. Geez Netflix.
  • @Mcyxof
Lockwood and Co being cancelled is what made me vow to never spend a single penny on Netflix. It's one of my favourite book series and the adaption was so well done. They said they only needed 3 seasons to properly tell the whole story! I said it many times before and I'll say it again, Screw You, Netflix!!!
  • Justice for Matthias! Reunite Kaz and Inej! Solve the ghost mystery! More Lucy and Lockwood goodness! Netflix made the wrong choice; they’re going for quantity over quality and too many good shows are not given a chance or falling into obscurity whilst crappy ones get renewed for their 6th season! Appreciate you giving Lockwood and co more advertising than Netflix did.
  • One show that netflix cancelled that got me really pissed off is 1899. That show could’ve been as great as Dark if it were given the chance to actually develop until s3 like the directors and producers intended it to be
  • @blueskybelyr
Lockwood and Co was brilliant. I literally bought all 5 books after seeing just 3 episodes, and after finishing both the books and the series I found an event with Jonathan Stroud (the author) in my country and bought tickets. Such a fantastic story, it was devastating to find out it was cancelled - especially since the show would have needed only 3 seasons max to cover all the books. It's like they forget audiences GROW over time. Nobody watched Succession season 1 when it came out, but fast forward 3 years and everyone's talking about it! They need to give these shows a chance! And I'm still salty over Anne with an E being cancelled, one of the best shows in the past decade.
  • @railitto
Netflix's cancellation model is really annoying for consumers too. there's a constant pressure to watch something as soon as it comes out, or risk it simply being cancelled. If your job or life doesn't allow you a ton of time to watch stuff, you have to be selective, and sometimes that means waiting until you hear some buzz around a show, and you simply CAN'T do that with Netflix cause by the time there's buzz, the show's fate has been decided.
  • @MK-jx4sg
What's so upsetting is that Netflix has been refusing to give the rights to other streaming services or to show's creators for series like Julie and the Phantoms, so I'm guessing the same thing is happening here:(( It's not that other streaming services won't pick up these shows, it's more that Netflix isn't letting them. I love Lockwood and Co sm and would've given anything for it to be picked up
  • @ashe2937
Lockwood and Co was literally such a good show and I'm so bummed it got canceled. It's based off of a book series so I'm excited to start reading those to keep the world alive
  • @cassgray9340
Keep signing the petitions! We’ve got nearly 200k on S&B and maybe 34k on Lockwood and co. Thanks for talking about this. S&B and Lockwood and Co are my two current favorite shows and BOTH OF THEM got canceled?? Incredibly stupid decisions, they’re both based on book series with huge, loyal canvases PLUS the shows we’re pulling non-book fans too. MASSIVE fan base. Anne with an E broke my heart too back in the day. :(
