In Tibet, grandparents give kisses and also food or sweets to the children. When they don't have any to give, they'll say "eat my tougue" which is misspoke by Dalai Lama by said "suck my tougue" to tease them. "Eat my tougue" (che le sa) means [I gave you all my love, and now what has left with me is only my tougue, so eat it], but it is not a sexual word, but a word that is said affectionately to tease the child in an innocently playfull manner. Also, for Tibetan, "eat" and "suck" sounds approximately the same, as Tibetan consider tougue as a body organ rather than a sexual organ as we think. Just like "kiss my ass", it doesn't mean I want you to really kiss my ass. Also, for those who already know Dalai Lama for so long must be know how playful Dalai Lama is. If you watch the video carefully, Dalai Lama pulled his tougue as soon as the child took his tougue out. So, think Dalai Lama was just playing with that child, just like grandfather playing with his own grandson.
