I just installed an Amazon FireHD 10 on my wall with Home Assistant just 6 months ago. Not sure this is better, but it looks great, and I'm sure it's much simpler.

Other Smart Home Hubs cost around $400. The Samsung smartthings station also works as a matter hub with ZigBee and thread and that is 80 dollars. The Smartthings station supports more ZigBee devices then the Echos with Hubs.

Waiting for this But 8” screen?? Why not 10 or 15” 8” seems small for this type divice

the only thing interesting about this that my echo 8 (that's small enough to sit on my desk) can't do is the multiple camera live stream - so unless its compatible with my NVR its not worth it.

When will they make it so you can name your device any name you want

Which security alarm displays the keypad on this or any echo show?

Will this be another screen for paid advertisements like the echo show?

I would love a product like this (sucks that we use the Google ecosystem) but the one thing I see right away in the video and the marketing pictures... Why is there so much dead space on the dashboard? It's only an 8" screen to begin with, then you an inch of white space for the clock at the top, you have 2 inches on the left for the list with a lot of empty space, then you have bug buttons at the bottom with big gaps around them. Even the camera tile has a huge top border. You won't be able to see anything in the video feeds unless your standing right on top of it. Not to mention that one of the points of having a touchscreen hub/controller is convenience. If you have to scroll through pages to find a light because the buttons are so big on 4-5 fit on the screen, it's no longer convenient.

Wait, I thought this was an Amazon keynote, not an Apple keynote. Thank you SJ junior.
