My mate went to Alien War with a load of French exchange kids at his school - he noticed an alien in the corner of his eye and moved a kid over to that area who hadn't seen it. Kid ended up wetting himself when the alien jumped out!

I guess there are more visual callbacks to the original Aliens films with the Antarctic set, but surely the original setting from the comic - in a desert - would have been even cheaper.

Colin Salmon is one of my favourite actors. How I wanted to see him star in his own action flick. A Black Bond would have been a real treat. What a wasted, tantalising opportunity.

Believe it or not, I actually do like this movie. It's one of my guilty pleasures. I know it's not a good movie, it is a flawed movie. But I would gladly take this film over the sequel.

I’ve got a soft spot for this movie but I’ll admit it’s messy schlock
