2024-07-17に共有
Blimey! Sean and Shana from The Kling Connection have landed in London, land of fish and chips, questionable accents, and enough history to fill a double-decker bus (with room for a spot of tea, of course!).

Get ready for a whirlwind tour of this iconic city, filled with:

-Near-death experiences with double-decker buses (don't worry, we mostly survived!)
-Trying to decipher Shakespearean insults hurled at pigeons (turns out, it's harder than it looks)
-Queuing for everything (because apparently, that's the British way) and maybe even scoring a selfie with the Queen (okay, maybe not the Queen...)
-Unraveling the mysteries of the Tower of London (did we find the Crown Jewels? Watch to find out...or maybe not)

So grab your cuppa, settle in, and join us on this laugh-a-minute escapade through the streets of London! Let us know in the comments below what surprised you most about this magnificent city, and don't forget to like and subscribe for more adventures that are sure to be a right kerfuffle!

  • "outerior walls " there is a new Americanism i have not heard before.

I love that it gets dark at 5pm in the Winter, it feels cozy - especially around Christmas!! Best of both worlds : Long summer nights, cozy winter nights!
  • You definitely need to check out Cornwall (south west of England) on your next visit. It is the number one holiday spot for Brits who choose to holiday at home. We have stunning coast line, beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters. You can visit Lands End, as the name would suggest it's literally the end of England.
  • I despair sometimes that tourists only go to the places that are for the tourists lol. In your last piece to camera in the direction you are looking past the camera is the church where William Penn was married. Just on the other side of the thames about a mile and a half east is a small graveyard where the Captain of the Mayflower is buried and on the foreshore nearby is where the Mayflower began it's voyage and was eventually broken up. I should be a tour guide lol. Still I don't suppose Americans come to London for US history but English. Glad that you enjoyed your your visit to my hometown. :)
  • London is absolutely fantastic - one of the most versatile, fascinating and amazing cities in the world. However, you'll probably have noticed from several of the comments here that some of our fellow citizens from the dull and dreary provinces permanently nurse an attitude of grievance and hostility to London and a giant chip on both shoulders because they are consumed by jealousy. Some blame immigration, but their attitude was no different back in the days before large scale immigration began. Pathetic, aren't they? There are lovely, fascinating places out in the sticks too, but they are no more "real" than magnificent London
  • Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London are both a thousand years old. That part of the Tower of London is Roman. Also at 3 Savile Row is where The Beatles played their famous last live performance on the roof. Glad you found us Londoners a friendly bunch. We really are, although you’ll always hear from Northerners that they’re more friendly. They aren’t 😊 Lovely video of my city.
  • Guy dressed as :face-turquoise-covering-eyes:goes to Saville Row a name synonymous with class and style 🤣 I'm surprised the store even let him in ! Dress to impress mate !
  • The Palace of Westminster was Built 1016 and later demolished 1834 (due to fire) Rebuilt 1840–1876.

London is arguably the greatest tourist city on the planet for sightseeing. You could visit twenty times and not run out of things to see and do. You'll find literally every nationality on earth represented in it's people, which can be both a good and bad thing about London. Around 71% of citizens are not originally from the UK, which makes it one of the most multicultural cities on earth but also means you have to leave London and visit the rest of the UK to get a more accurate experience of British culture. Lived there twice in my life. In the early 70s and again in the early 00s. It can be great to live there for a while, but if you stay too long, it's a city and culture that will make you pretentious. It's always good to move back out of London again to get your feet back on the ground.

What you thought was the remnant of a tower was part of the London wall, it is 2,000 year old, when London was called Londinium by the Romans. There are still parts of the wall around the City of London and remains of housing. You barely saw London - It is 3 x bigger than NYC. You need a week to even see a good chunk of it.

Great video, Thank you for visting our capital city, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip and wish you both safe travels.

Only an American could go to Saville Row dressed like a homeless person and get away with it. 😂

At 10pm every night there is the Ceremony of the keys at the Tower of London. A limited amount of people can attend each time, about 20. It's absolutely amazing to watch, only twice in the history of the tower it hasn't take place and that was during 2 nights of heavy bombing in ww2. It's when they lock up and secure the Tower for the night. you actually get shut in and have to go through a tiny hidden door to get out. After all the Beafeaters live at the Tower and need to come and go even when it's closed. Obviously I'm not going to say where it's situated..
  • Rip off prices to see Westminster Abbey, tower of London, and St Paul's . Tower of London was sensibly priced 20 plus years ago. St Paul's and Westminster Abbey were free to get into!
  • 5.22 translation It's alright we are English soldiers not German, somebody's Taylor made these uniforms so you could get a look at what Germans wear if you know what I mean. Not a direct translation but close enough
  • Oxfords not Brogues 😂😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🙏🏻

Worth a visit then get out and about. Cotswolds, south West, the lakes, Highlands of Scotland, Country pubs and music festivals.
