Join Kyle in Oslo, Norway where he is testing the range efficiency of the ID. Buzz. Keep in mind to not compare this to our normal range test as 1. It’s not our official loop 2. We are getting the long wheel base in the US.

    And now we know why the US is only getting the LWB (likely needed for the bigger battery option) - however for European urban travel, this is more than fine, don’t you think?

    As a current id4 owner in upstate NY, that range seems accurate for the temps during your test. In winter I see about 1.9 mi/kWh. In summer I see about 3.6 mi/kWh. VW batteries hate the cold.

    Kyle, now when you are in Norway remember to show the turn signal when exiting the round-about

    It's looking like VW needs to add their version of Camp Mode or Utility mode before ID Buzz owners will be able to enjoy AC/heat during their car camping sessions. Hopefully this can be easily addressed with an Over the Air update before they begin selling here in North America. Fingers crossed 🤞!!

    This was a nice review, I have watched Byorn do so many range tests on this road, it would be good to see you and him meet up and do a comparison review of the ID Buzz

    I'm in the UK. Currently have a model X. I wanted an ID Buzz until I realised the range was only 160miles at the speeds we travel. Yes it charges fast but our infrastructure isn't good enough Most of our DC chargers are 50kw. There are still very few 150kw+ chargers and if you have children and travel in school holidays and weekends then you will find they all have big queues (except for the Tesla superchargers, but only 15 of the UK sites have been open to other cars so not that useful). Our main issue is we travel 110 miles each way to visit relatives 12-15 times per year. There is no charger at our destination (as our relatives do not have off road parking, and there is no public charging in the village of 5000. The only chargers above 50kw enroute have massive queues (usually 20 mins), the only chargers near the destination are 20 mins away and only 50kw). So we either charge slowly/with big queues enroute or have 1.5hrs less with relatives and drive to a charger. These are not acceptable options for spending over £50,000 on a vehicle and that's why we won't get an ID buzz. Cars of this price need a realistic 250 mile range at 75mph!
  • I love how the ID Buzz can look retro with a 2tone paint, or sleek futuristic in this silver (if only it was brushed/matte)

    Your Norwegian is perfect. Bilvask means car wash 👍 Nice to have you in Norway.

    Loving the Circle K hot dog holder because the bud vase would be too silly.

    Enjoy to see you here in Norway. Wish you a good stay here, Hope you will have a good trip to the north, and you can see Aurora ther. Best regards from little old Norh Norwegian boy
  • This is the first time I’ve seen one of these that isn’t two tone. It looks great in solid silver.
  • The Buzz has so much character. To me this is the coolest EV (after the Taycan)

    Two and a half hours at 70 mph is more than sufficient for the UK .

    Great video, that smaller battery just seems to choke the range out on this thing. I have high hopes for the US release getting a 100kw battery and hopefully hit around 300 miles of range. I am looking at the US release of this for some long cross country trips in the coming years and the IDBuzz would be great for it IF the range could be around 300. Another great video, Kyle!

    The range (158 mi / 254 km) matches pretty good with Bjørn Nylands tests -> 153 mi / 247 km at 120 km/h at 44,6 F / 7 C.

    Please include metric numbers somehow in the video.
