The Lord of the Ring: The Fellowship of the Ring is an intriguing game to say the least.

Released only one month before the Two Towers tie-in game, Fellowship has nothing to do with it's film counterpart. This decision led to the creation of a game I still struggle to pin down... do I like it? Do I hate it?

Throw on your cloak, grab your walking stick and let's find out!

Thanks for checking out the video! Do you remember Fellowship tie-in game? What's your favourite game from the LotR's franchise?

Thanks for checking out the video! 💚 What's your favourite Lord of the Rings game?
  • @aw9307
I actually loved this game as a kid.
  • This is the first game I have gotten in my life. So many great memories.
  • My favorite part of this game was the Shire; I could play an entire game just doing hobbit things.
  • I actually really enjoyed that game. I was so looking forward to the sequel they were making called the treason of Isengard. Too bad it got canceled
  • @davedavey2524
I couldn’t get out of the shire when the ring wraiths were searching for you. So many frustrating memories as a child
  • I vividly remember playing the Aragorn levels again and again and again. It's probably because I couldn't beat it or move on, but I loved every second of it.

As flawed as it was, the game has a very comfy and magical aura about it. I feel like there's a bunch of hidden/cut stuff in the game, waiting for someone to do the digging.

had this game as a kid on the Xbox, which interestingly enough is significantly different from the PS2/PC "ports", and was the original version. I suspect the PS2/PC versions were built off of an early alpha build and the game diverged from there. Regardless I think for their time they were actually pretty decent, I love the atmosphere especially and it really captures that adventurous journey through dark evil lands
  • Well, that ending you heavily criticized is actually book accurate, hilarious, don't you think. In books Boromir died in Two Towers and that nazgul attack truly happened ( just nazgul don't attack them on ground but Legolas shoot it down from afar).

What's even more crazier is when you realize that the guy who voices Sam in the PS2 version, is ROBIN from Teen Titans
  • As bad as this game actually was I enjoyed it, I heard the developers planned to add so much more but the publishers rushed development and they had to cut a lot of content.
  • You won't forget that Shire level. It's the only level of the game I DO remember. Mainly because I quit and returned the game for Two Towers that night. Luckily Hollywood video were cool and let me just exchange it for something else.

You and I couldn't differ any further on this game, in every aspect. FOTR got it right where Two Towers & ROTK failed; The Lord of the Rings is an adventure, not a hack n' slash/cast spells action story. Adventuring, collecting items, & completing missions to move forward... From start to the end of Bree, I loved this game as a child, and it was one of my favorite PS2 games back in the day. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy this game as much as I did.

The novel of Fellowship doesn't actually end with Boromir dying, the Two Towers begins with it.

If you find Gollum 3 times in the Amon Hen level, you get the most powerful weapon in the game: a fish
