This just shows she never viewed her child as a child. She viewed Elektra as a possession, an investment. Anyone who has that viewpoint should never have kids in the first place.
-
She had the audacity to gulit trap her for not feeling safe. She didn't think three seconds about safety when she throw Elektra on the streets.
-
“Leave like the others...”? Babe, you didn’t want a son, you wanted a husband.
-
She didn't want a child, she wanted a husband that would never leave. Elektra was right to leave her behind.
-
"Goodbye Tasha." Announcing she doesn't see her as her mother, I believe. This was indeed the most powerful scene Pose has set for us to see
-
That island accent came out strong
-
The mother is selfish...... she still can’t let her be a woman - she still wants her to be a man. This is such a sad scene but I appreciate it. How many people are scared to be themselves because of family or parents like this .....

Dominique DESERVES those awards and nominations, get her those flowers

As a trans person this show means more to me than I can ever even hope to express. Scenes like this really shake me to my core. Absolutely stunningly haunting.
-
“You like him?” “Ain’t no one like her!” I live for these reads and commentaries 😂
-
“The pain of your disapproval will no longer distract me from going after everything I deserve in this world” This hit home, BIGGGGG time. Got me in tears
-
Elektra's Trini accent came out strong strong!!
-
“I am more ferocious than any man” I LOVE HER STRENGTH SO MUCH
-
when her mama said “if you could just tone it it down a little” I knew elektra would SNAP

Can we show some love for Noma Dumezweni? She absolutely nailed her role as a gaslighter. It’s easy to make a character lovable, when you have good actors and great scripts. But making you uncomfortable? Making you hate a character? That takes talent.
-
She didn't wanted a child, she wanted a "big strong man" who would protect her when Elektra could've easily do that being who SHE is. It's sad there are mothers exactly like that out there.
-
Elektra calling Blanca "Mother Teresa" 😂 Also loved the way Elektra looked back at Blanca when she said, "more love." 🤎
-
YOU DO NOT OWN YOUR CHILD. They are not your body guard.
-
Elektra's mama is selfish. She needed to realize that even if Elektra never transitioned......he woulda been her SON NOT her HUSBAND!!!! That in and of itself is toxic because even if she never transitioned her mama woulda sabotage any relationship: if "Dwayne" was with a man.....she woulda thought of it as "unholy" and manipulate "him" out of it....and if "Dwayne" was with a woman she would say verbatim :"The only 'man' that's truly mine is leaving me for another woman. IM the ONLY woman who supposed to be in 'his' life!!!" It's a lose-lose-lose situation all the way around. Miss me with that

The way Elektra said “just so there’s no confusion” sent chills down my spine
