  • Hey Folks, beware of SCAMS - I will never give away mystery paintings, prints or other works via messages or comments. If you hear from me, It will be via a video here on my channel. Beware of posers and scamers. They're getting crafty these days. Thanks so much to those bringing the latest one to my attention.
  • The scene you painted Andrew is very special to me. One that I awaken to every morning. The hill is called Taratara and the little island is Red Island. Whangaroa was the earliest European settlement in New Zealand. The sunsets here up north at times leave me speechless. I adore your work. Thank you.
  • You have a wonderful way with words! It’s hard to listen to someone talk about tone and value without zoning out but you make all the “artist talk” very clear and easy to understand and listen to. Thank you for sharing your art and knowledge! ❤👍
  • A timely tutorial for my current project of Lake Tahoe. I appreciate the technical notes on the layered and patterned subtle waves, especially in the foreground. Thank you. Each video is a pure gift. Thank you.
  • @MarinelaM
That's what my dad said and all these years was stuck on my mind-sunsets are so pretty and no one will belief, but long winters here i needed that color to mix and paint and loved it , i just had to dissect

I worked the night shift on the 5th floor in CA and had a chance to see the sunrise many times. I was shocked at how unusual the sunrise looked (not every morning). Most people don't see it and have no clue.
  • This painting was a great demonstration that, while novice painters should do their best to paint the colors which are actually there, advanced painters should paint the colors that look good. The orange/blue complementary pair in the water give the scene much more richness than is present in the photo.
  • Thank you Mr Tischler for this demonstration of ripples in a larger body of water. I actually love to paint sunsets. But I have been very frustrated with water when it is not a mirror-like reflection. The ripples just always fall flat. Or look fake or just not right. I told myself maybe this is just not a technique that I can master. I am going to study this video a bit because I can see how your checkerboard pattern is very useful. Maybe I am giving up at the point where it is daunting and not pushing on through until I like it. I see some practice paintings in my future. Thanks so much for your generosity.
  • Sorry Andrew, you don't qualify as "clickbait"! 😁 Your demonstrations have lifted me and countless other artists from average to serious artisits! Such a simple scene, lifted into professional level by your hand. Thank you again for bringing quality content to artists who chose oils - we are such a minority it seems!
  • @prezentz
That was awesome I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to re-watch this a few thousand times to get my head around creating water something I haven't actually got around to investing too much time in currently but really want to, its a bit of an enigma for me
  • @linvest8466
Loved your painting and enjoyed watching you handle the paint. Thank you for sharing your video with us.
  • The atmospheric background adds more than you mentioned. I enjoyed this very much.
  • @CBALLEN
Brother,God has blessed you with an amazing talent.
  • @Achdujeh
You definitely made the most out of that (rather dull) picture. The painting looks more vivid and true-to-life than the photo :)
  • Great video, creating light in a painting is definitely a challenge.
  • Andrew, your teaching is excellent. You are clear, supportive, and your skills beyond amazing. Thank you!
  • I bet this video inspires someone to start painting for the first time . Great job !
