Publicado 2024-07-28
The Park Fire is 12% contained after burning 350,012 acres as of Sunday morning, July 28, according to Cal Fire. Officials say the fire grew exponentially late Friday into Saturday morning due to steep terrain and high winds, moving around four to five thousand acres per hour. The fire has forced evacuations in multiple Northstate counties.

Cal Fire's preliminary aerial structure assessment showed over 100 structures impacted by the Park Fire. However, after damage inspection on the ground, Cal Fire says 20 structures have been confirmed destroyed with 4,200 structures still threatened. There have been no injuries or fatalities reported.

They stopped funding fire prevention years ago. Dry brush and dead trees get out of hand. Job security

This looks like a high school TV station. You're not telling us anything new you're just parroting larger networks. The reason that the containment numbers are 10% is because the fire is moving back on itself in certain areas. Hedging numbers, it's something the government always does

Crazy. California has had two consecutive years of record rainfalls and snowfalls, yet once the weather dries everything out, it's immediately back to fire season. Only with the growth generated from the orevious two years, it's now worse, as there's more fuel to burn.

8:59 your telling me SoCal folks stopping coming up? Maybe there’s a positive in all this after all

Why do people leave it so late to evacuate their animals? I know this fire is fast moving, but it's stayed on the same general tract ,it's not like it's changed direction totally or been contained fully at any point.
  • The Native Americans know how to prevent fires like this. They did annual burns to get rid of the scrub brush. Trees don’t burn when forest floor is just grass.

@3:40 satellite time-lapse view, 'containment' would seem to be a misnomer here

Water around your house and get leaves away from the house. Give your home a fighting chance.

Tehama County Sheriff's deputies are in desperate need of training the way they talk shit to evacuees. They need a physical health policy as well, quite a few are just overweight sociopaths.
