Ukrainian troops have remained in Russia’s western Kursk region as its surprise cross-border offensive into Russia came to the end of a fourth day.

The Russian defence ministry said it was “continuing to repel” Ukraine’s military, which it claimed had lost more than 280 personnel in the past 24 hours - a figure that has not been independently verified.

Reports suggest that Ukrainian troops are operating more than 10km (six miles) inside Russia - the deepest cross-border advance by Kyiv since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

  • Well done. Negotiations tend to be less one sided when each side has something to trade. Even just disturbing their line can be worth the risk.
  • Not an “invasion”, a special military operation. Maybe Russia should save needless loss of life and suffering by coming to the bargaining table and ceding Kursk back to Ukraine? 🤷
  • Russia marches towarda kyiv. Ukraine marches towars moscow. Thats fair lets see who wins.
  • Surprised how regular youtubers can do better and more professional audio on interviews than BBC. Send these people mics if you have any respect for your audience and want us to be able to listen to long interviews. You really will get better retention of viewers. I should charge you a fee for the idea. Regardless... relent on the bad audio and fix the problem.
