Las Vegas: The Shady Life in America's Most Sinful City | Part 1 and Part 2 | Complete Series | ENDEVR Documentary

Homeless in Vegas - Where Poverty Meets Big Money:    • Homeless in Vegas: Where Poverty Meet...

This two part series focuses not on the millions of tourists who flock to the city’s hotels and casinos but on those who choose to live in Vegas, some of the 1.3 million inhabitants whose lives play out in the shadow of the Strip.

Over the course of the two episodes Trevor meets Las Vegans who have won and lost big, people who might fare better living somewhere far away from the pull of the bright lights and some who have seen firsthand the glamour – and violence – of a place that unveils more about human foibles than any other city on earth.

Through their stories Trevor reveals something far more tangible about Sin City in the 21st century than the neon mirage that lies at its heart.

00:00 Episode 1
Trevor also meets former high-class prostitute Annie Lobert who at the height of her career was making $2million a year. Tucked away in a secret corner of the sprawling suburbs, Annie now runs a safe house for prostitutes trying to get away from their violent pimps.

00:43:24 Episode 2
Trevor’s journey into Vegas wouldn’t be complete without sampling the high life. In a 3 million dollar apartment overlooking the Strip, he meets one of the world’s most successful poker players, Antonio Esfandiari also known as the Magician. Antonio holds the record for winning the biggest cash prize in poker - $18,346,673 on the turn of a single card.

There are some really underhanded street people in this town.” says the first voice you hear. Nothing new I’m guessing. It is a gambling town after all. We hear the tales hidden in the shadows. Because where there are lots of bright lights, there are lots of dark shadows.

So people really still get star stuck by the lights?

I grew up in Vegas. The locals hate going to the Strip. Crimes are anywhere in the world. Vegas is no difference. There's nothing much to do as a kid in Vegas except sports, after school activities, & riding the horses in the desert. My parents went in great lengths to keep me protected from all the crazy, shady things that happens in Vegas. I never got into gambling, drugs, prostitution, or arrested for anything. There are great people as well as bad ones all over the world. I got lucky with amazing parents & family who raised me right. I can't say much for the rotten people who does bad things. Vegas is home; the good, the bad, & the ugly.

It’s absolutely amazing how humble Tyson is now. Truly inspiring.

I think Tyson's turnaround is remarkable. Most people that have gone down the path he did end up dead or in prison (for life). He is truly inspirational. He was taken advantage of as a young man, used and abused. I'm happy to see him mature - Congrats Mike. Hope you continue to find peace in your life.

I was a gambling addict too. Short lived. When I started seeing how possible it was to make serious money (like 10 to 20k in one night) I felt the biggest adrenaline rush I've ever felt in my life. But then when I saw it was also possible to lose so much more, it was like skydiving into a massive pit of raw sewage.

It's amazing to see how much Mike Tyson has matured. I'm glad to see that his past life didn't destroy him. He seems to have grown into a good human being. Congratulations Mike we are all proud of you.
  • This guy’s presence is so calming and engaging for the person being questioned. He a real pro at this. Great doc.
  • @LOVELIVETRUTH
Tyson has calmed down so much. He seems so grounded now. God bless him.

Tyson is so simple and yet smart! Not feeding the conversation of what was left in the past. He cleaned his act good! Happy for him. He is leaving a humble life of a family man
  • I’ve lived in Las Vegas for the past 45 years and have watched the growth happen for better or worse. It’s funny when I tell new comers about how great it was back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, I sound just the old timers did back when I first came to town telling me how great it was in the 40’s and 50’s. I’m thankful that I was able to make a good honest living and able to raise my family out here. Overall this city has been good to me.

  • Lived in Henderson as a Canadian and i absolutely loved it there.
Had a great group of friends and honestly never ran into a bad person in my time there and i got up to no good quite regularly.
It doesnt matter where you are theres always shady people and good people. Crime is everywhere.
  • @whatisaray
Trevor is so good at interviewing. He makes the conversation comfortable but steers it the way an audience wants. He’s awesome

It's crazy to think I was in the Riviera some 17 years ago, finally Gone. That's the thing about life . . . . nothing last forever, you have to decided to buy the memories and put them away and keep it pushing.
  • @Saidwhatisaid88

Mike's transformation from the Robin Given days is so inspiring! I am not a fan of the sport of boxing, but I'm a huge fan of Spiritual and emotional growth, and Mike is a great example ❤
  • @jaymeskuriah
Watching from Africa... There is indeed nothing new under the sun...The same challenges and sins of crime, drugs, murder, prostitution, immorality, and betting are being faced by humans in every country. I pray that we break free from any addiction.
  • @akimmbo
Trevor McDonald rules, when it comes to documentaries. Put on one of his many, and you can't stop watching. He's the best. Thanks Trevor for going into places and beyond boundaries where many of us would never go. 👍
