The fact they are all supposed to be getting progressively more miserable, but instead are getting progressively more hysterical with laughter, adds another layer to it being hilarious. They accidentally made this way more funny than what they intended. Love it.

Jimmy smirking when Rachel said "It's official" cause he knows what line is coming next is hilarious

The "I can't have children" line hit way harder than it was probably originally intended. That drop was so freakin' funny, I can't stop laughing.
  • Horatio Sanz wiping his eyes with the pancakes and then taking them from all the plates as he leaves is by far my favorite part of this skit.

Amy poehler said in her book that this skit is a mild cure to depression; I agree

Damn this cast makes you realize how damn long Keenan’s been on this show lol.

I saw an interview once where Rachel Dratch, who had just started on SNL, said she was afraid she’d be fired after this sketch because she broke character so many times. No Rachel, it’s the sketch that singlehandedly made you an SNL icon

Easily one of the funniest sketches from SNL that I've ever seen. The fact that they each broke character by laughing hysterically along with the audience makes it even funnier 🤣
  • That “can’t have children” remark was so perfect when everyone else is busting out breaking character
  • @donteh855
I’ve never laughed so hard at someone saying “I can’t have children” in my life😂
  • Love that around 4:54 Lindsay looks at Fred to get a cue as to when to deliver her line (he's right next to her, calm, steady, and better at reading live crowds) - you can just see her mouth "now?" and he gives a little nod. Teamwork for the win!

"By the way". Sets up one of the funniest deliveries on SNL.
  • Pretty sure Keenan was born on the set of SNL and will probably perish there.

Cried laughing at this...again. The moment she says "By the way, it's official..." and knowing what the next line is, and why she's struggling to get it out, makes it immediate top ten SNL moments of all time. Wah-Wah!

Who is here after the "Lisa from Temecula" sketch with host Pedro Pascal. It was absolutely hilarious and is almost on par with this sketch 🤣

It’s honestly the best thing seeing people break character. It’s genuine laughter and that’s what makes this skit gold. I will never not laugh at this.
