    I was in St. Petersburg in July 1992. It was absolutely an amazing experience. People were so anxious to know about the west and came up to me to practice their English. You could tell people felt a great weight was off them. Of course it was hectic and kinda dangerous at night because criminal elements were quickly filling in the void. Definitely one of the best experiences of my life tbh
