Benjamin Netanyahu has told US lawmakers "our enemies are your enemies" in a landmark speech to US Congress.

The Israeli prime minister intended to rally support for the war against Hamas in Gaza, but was marked by pro-Palestinian protests inside and outside the Capitol.

The Israeli leader received a raucous reception from mostly Republican politicians as he delivered a speech to a joint session of Congress, his fourth.

In contrast, Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, and the former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, criticised the address in a post on X.

I'm amazed, I'm speechless, I'm shocked how a civilized state assembly allows a murderer, a tyrant, an anti-humanity , a criminal to speak to the law makers???
