My cobbler would chase me out with a hammer if I brought my boots in that filthy
  • @tiedyekris
God bless the people who are keeping these lost arts alive!
  • @tonybletas431
Never knew just how complicated and involved the entire process really is! These guys are highly skilled craftsmen, and a rarity these days!

Reminds me of the carpenter who used the same hammer for 50 years. He replaced the handle 5 times, and the head twice, but it was still the same hammer!
  • I enjoyed this restoration video! I was however a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to see anything done to the uppers to at least spiff them up a bit. I know the point of keeping them is to preserve their “broken in” status. But some kind of tcl is in order! Maybe at least a wipe on of carnauba cream or something to shine them up or give them that factory new leather smell. Great video overall with much skilled craftsmanship!

I’m interested to know what the benefit of rebuilding, and keeping so little of the original boot, as opposed to just buying new.

Это не рестоврация, это изготовление нового. 90% новых деталей. А по работе супер, красавчики.

The owner of that boot must have been in all the season of the walking dead!!! They were filthy!!! Thanks for the video! Amazing.

It’s always nice to watch a craftsman at their trade, have a good day everyone.

Truly incredible. I don't think I've ever seen anyone replace a VAMP before. That's crazy.
To me it says a lot about who Nick's is - they're a company that builds a boot so well, that even after destroying it, the owner would rather FIX IT, than buy a new pair, AND that Nick's stands behind their craftsman and their craftsmanship enough to make that repair. Love it 👍👍

Как в анекдоте про топор Авраама Линкольна: оригинальный, только два раза меняли лезвие, и пять раз топорище.

I restore furniture for a living, re-upholstery, wooden furniture restoration & french polishing, so I understand how much work goes into restoring boot & shoes, great video👍

Смысл такой реставрации, изготовление нового батинка, да работа супер профисионала, ни одного лишнего движения, мастер такого уровня ни когда без хлеба не останется! Спасибо!
  • @lki34442
Impressive process. Never knew it takes as many nails to make pair of boots as it does to build a house
  • Dear Nick & Team: Incredible skills & workmanship! Totally fascinating watching this complicated process done at such speed. I will have the utmost appreciation for the time & knowledge needed to produce every pair of shoes & boots I buy from this viewing forward. Just hope some kids watch this & want to become gifted cobbler-tradesmen like you guys.
  • @INGBWLer
I have the impression, that more than 90% are new.
  • @billwalker6946
I have never sent mine in that dirty, but have sent them in in really bad shape. I just figured it out and I have been searing Nick's boots for at least 25 years if not longer. I am a huge fan of Nick's Boots!!!
  • @colldollm51
This was just a pleasure to watch. Hats off to the fine craftsmen and women of Nick's. I want a pair even though I'm a nurse!😊
