  • It was breathtaking indeed. I was out on the street in Porto, Portugal while the sky turned green and blue, then we could see the meteor gazing out of the clouds showing a gorgeous colourful light trail. Right on top of our heads. The biggest meteor show Ive ever seen, Amazing sight!
  • Now that's something you don't see everyday thank,s for sharing the memories😊🙏
  • Portuguese here, I didn't see it but I heard it, it made the same noise as jet passing the sound barrier..

A rock from space can light up the sky like that.. imagine what else is out there 🤯
  • Portuguese here, I was driving in a dark road, saw it, it was fascinating, exiting and scary at the same time. Heard no sound.
  • Beautiful! Once in a lifetime experience that is probably life-changing in that, now, those who saw it will forever be watching the skies.

A greenish/blueish meteor means its components are made up primarily of magnesium 😊💚🩵 What id love to see is a sodium meteorite. Meteors can be red, orange, yellow, green and blue but sodium meteors are purple 😊💜 The light phenomenon comes from the reaction of the meteors speed impacting the Earths upper atmospheric layers. The atmosphere acts as a protective barrier from outer objects like such, and the bright flaming inferno is proof that it works

My wife & I have seen one closer than that & one could see the layers melting off. And each layer had different color sparks with a tail. Cked the news the next day no reports on it that was like 35 years ago in Texas It was heading east to Huntsville Tx.
