Trying to Save a FLOODED Mtn Dew Xbox - This Mountain Dew original Xbox was very liquid damaged, which Robert on the Restorish channel spent a bunch of time cleaning before giving to me to fix. The first step will be to replace all the bulging capacitors, then we can see what else might be causing issues.

Here's the Restorish cleaning video:    • Too Far Gone? Rusted Out Special Edit...

  • I’m an engineer myself, I service and repair, medical imaging equipment, MRI, ultrasound etc. thirty-years now, in any case, I just wanted to tell you that you have been an inspiration to me, you have even, unbeknownst to you, guided me, or given me ideas on where to go when working on my equipment, never let it be said, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!! Thank you so much for what you do, hang in there!!!

I'm so sorry, I didn't know you had cancer. My mom just had breast cancer. You are going to kick its ass. You're amazing, and your videos brighten my day. The world is a much better place with you in it.
  • @Vicstruction
You are incredibly strong for continuing to work hard with what you're going through. I only wish the best, and great video as always
  • @HerpMcDerp89
I was glad to see your update that you were in complete remission. As a survivor of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma myself, I know how difficult those last couple of treatments were. But that just makes it all the more satisfying when you get to ring the bell signaling you've finished your treatments. Hope you have a smooth recovery. :)
  • @ray1144.
steve hope all is going good for you and your family. impressive on how your still working knowing what your going thru. stay strong buddy
  • @d3us89

I've been subbed for so long. And I don't wanna be like everyone else cuz I know how overwhelming it could be. I have social anxiety and can barely leave my house. You have been a inspiration to me thru my YouTube and Tronicsfixing journey. I've learned so much with the position I'm in. I just wanted to say thank you for everything. Your my hero 😢
  • I remember commenting on Robert’s video about this Xbox, that colour way has stuck with me and i don’t imagine this was released in the uk seeing Mountain Dew isn’t big here but seeing this work and saved is a blessing and would look fantastic in anyone’s collection
  • I can only imagine the headache you go through cleaning these things... The dust alone would kill me

hope you're doing alright bro, bro
  • @robfrancois
I'd really like to see a long version of this one. The soldering sounds are relaxing.

  • @EddyXDK
a beautiful console. I hope you are recovering my friend. Hugs from a Brazilian fan.
  • Mad respect to you for still doing what you (hopefully) like, repairing stuff while you are/where in treatment and those sessions can be quite overwhelming! We wish you so much luck and that you hopefully recovery to fully normal as quick as possible! Cancer is not fun...
  • What a restoration of this thing 👏 Amazing
I was a bit disappointed that you didn't try replacing the eject button, and replaced the whole button board. Would have liked to have seen that button torn open and see inside it.
  • Hey steve i hope your treatment is going well. I hope you will keep us updated on your recovery process maybe on the community tab or something. I love your videos and admire your strength to push through and keep going. I wish you all the best.
  • Wow, it's crazy how quick things happen huh? I am glad to hear that you are in remission ! You are the person who got me into working on my own consoles. It's fun, and it's rewarding. Love from colorado ❤️
  • i been watching your videos for a while, just wanna say that you will be the only one fixing consoles and cancer at the same time, love your videos i even use your videos to sleep some times lol
  • @kaspakrov
Bro I just came back to your channel, didn't know you're going through a tough battle. You inspired me to fix my own stuff (until I give up and send for repair). Keep up the good work man
